I love that trailer, for a PS1 game those polygons and graphics are gorgeous. Consider all the lighting, texturing and animation just seeing it running in full 60fps is amazing for that generation.

I don't care how long it takes for them to develop The Last Guardian. If it's the last game released for PS3, I'll still be happy as long as it's brilliant.

I wish ALL games underwent a long development time, the industry would be all the better for it

EDIT:Well, maybe not the industry, but certainly us gamers

I don't know, Final Fantasy XIII had a really long development time but that didn't seem to help it much.

Just found out from Noise that a Shadow of the Colossus movie is in the works.

One of the most beloved games of the PlayStation 2 may be on its way to the big screen, reports Variety. Shadow of the Colossus has been picked up by Sony Pictures with Kevin Misher producing. His name is credited for The Scorpion King, The Interpreter, and the upcoming Dune.
Now for the (potentially) bad news. The script is being written by Justin Marks, who you may remember wrote Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li. That movie was an unfortunate dud, but we can hope that it was just a fluke. Marks has a big task ahead of him, making a feature-length movie out of a game with minimal dialogue and very few speaking characters. The report claims that minor characters from the game may take a larger role. And of course, Variety reminds us that the path from studio to screen is a long one, and anything can happen in-between. We'll keep an eye out for this one and hope for the best.
Not optimistic on the writer of Streetfighter or the producer of Scorpion King taking this on. Glad to read that Fumito Ueda of Team ICO will hopefully keep focus of the movie on track to this "Video game as an art form."

Another good indicator, Team ICO Wikia site mentions Sony bought this domain name:

Clicking it jumps to Sony's root movie page.

A few pages back I mentioned about getting the import PAL version of ICO for additional features.
I now am debating the same for SHADOW OF THE COLOSSUS.

The PAL release has add on extras:
Wiki wrote:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shadow_of_ ... AL_release

The PAL version of the game was released in February 2006. Much like the PAL release for Ico, the game came in cardboard packaging displaying various pieces of artwork from the game, and contained four art cards. The game also came with a "making of" documentary, a trailer for Ico and a gallery of concept art, accessible from the game's main menu.
As in PAL ICO, PAL Shadow gets the extra goodies:
CVG wrote:http://www.computerandvideogames.com/ar ... ?id=133500

Original ICO purchasers will be thrilled to hear that SotC will be packaged much the same way as the first title, coming in a luxurious cardboard containing four postcards - all featuring "magical moments from the game".

More excitingly though, us Europeans can enjoy some exclusive content in the form of video interviews with Shadow creators Fumito Ueda and Kenji Kaido, detailing the game's conception and development process. That's not all - the PAL version of the disc also contains an exclusive image gallery, containing concept art, stills and ICO's game trailer.
Now the dilemma:
1. Besides the additional documentaries, what of the game itself? Any differences between the various releases?
2. Does the PAL version offer a 60hz NTSC mode?
3. There is a Japanese special edition in a "Wander" white case, too expensive.

I have access to purchase the Japanese regular and the Best versions. I suspect the Best version as in PAL SOTC may have those extras. My thinking similar as in PS2 Midnight Club got a Greatest Hits Dub Edition with extras.

Can any PAL or NTSC Japan owners enlighten on this?

God just scrolling past that post about the SotC movie makes me cringe. It's just such a terrible idea and the mere concept undermines what made the game so great to begin with.

I picked up ICO finally recently. I'm eager to play it after I finish Shenmue.

I think the movie will be a fail. Still, I'll give it a watch when out on video.
The way I see it, take it in its own context aside from the game.

Geeze, this one is pricey, has NICO DVD:
