I finally found the place to add commands in the options for the IRC connection and I added "/join #Racketboy"

The only thing I get that is different in the server info window is this bit between the 'override' and 'user count' lines:

*** Executing perform buffer...
*** Trying to join #Racketboy...

So it's at least trying to connect me, but I still get "Sorry, IRC client users must register first." When I add "/msg nickserv identify PASS" after the join command in the command buffer, it makes no difference at all other than a line letting me know it sent that to the server.
