...? Matte 360s? You mean the glossy slims?

Should be coming around soon enough, and you'd be fine with a usb thumbdrive until it does come out. No reason to put the purchase on hold :P
If you aren't having a good time, why are you playing?

The 4gb slims are matte and look 10x better that the glossy ones. I just want a 250gb hard drive to go with it. Anyone know when they are being released?

Glossy looks better, I can't remember who, maybe Aaron greenberg said that they have no current plans to release one, but they definitely could. I have an alternative solution
Buy a or something like it. It is a hard drive that plugs into a usb port. You can use these with xbox 360s thanks to a system update a few months ago. Because the 360s has 2 extra usb ports, you can plug it in the back so it isn't an eyesore.

The limit for USB devices is 16GB.

I agree with the OP the matte looks alot better in my eye, still not enough to sway me from my red elite, TBH I don't like the redesign at all.

I would consider this option but can I transfer my files to an official Xbox hard drive once I obtain one? I may just have to wait for one the 250gb owners to pawn off theirs on eBay.

The limit for usb sticks is 16. See http://redvsblue.com/archive/episode.php?id=1205 You can use hard drives way past 1tb.
You could transfer data from your 360 hard drive to this by moving the data, you can plug in both at the same time so all you need to do is move the data.

It really does. I have 2008 Pro model with HDMI, but I don't want to cough up the money for a N wireless adapter and bigger hard drive when I can just buy a new console.

The video shows that almost any drive work, but I went to Microsoft's site and it says that the NXE won't utilize more than 16gb of memory.
