I now know the feeling of console malfunction...

Post by Veno »

I've seen other people in other forums post about their console malfunction, and I'd just post something like, that sucks, hope it gets better, but damn, the feeling definitely hits.

Well, it was actually my friend's PS3 which yellow lighted on him, but here's the thing. We popped in Blazblue, but decided to play the UFC demo before playing it. It yellow lighted during the demo, and I am unable to get my game back.

I know Sony will send my game back with his PS3 once they fix it, but has anyone tried to get the disc out themselves? I've read that you could do it, how to do it, shouldn't do it, but that it's possible. I got the game last week, and I'll miss it, so anyone have any personal experience with this? This will be an experience I will hate to remember.

Turn the system off and flip the switch on the back off. Now, hold either power or eject (I can't remember which so just try both) when you flip the switch on and it should pop out.

The weird thing is that that's not working. We've even tried holding it from 10-15 seconds before flipping the back switch, and we've done it while the system was both horizontal and vertical.
I was even considering using tweezers, but since it can damage my disc, I immediately decided it wasn't worth it.

Ah.

In this case it's most likely the PSU burnt out from a surge or other electrical occurrence from the sound of it if there's not even a light.

Oh no, there's a light. It's just, when we hold the eject button, then flip the switch on, it'll turn on, the light'll go green, then flicker yellow, then keep flashing red. I read that you should let the PS3 sit for at least 5 hours, then keep trying after that.
