So disappointed in you noise, no mention of the epic Momocon/Racketboy Four Swords setup that lives in my basement. Then again you did say you were a rebel.

haha, I'm sorry billy... yeah I was very deliberately trying to go in a completely opposite one-player angle on the game than pretty much any other review of it I've ever read.

EDIT: does this mean you can read RFG now???

Sometimes. I have a couple ways to get around our filter, but none of them work 100%. I mean no, I just assumed you didnt mention it...

Its cool, the whole one player angle was unique. It is a well written article for something most people dont remember/ever cared about, good show. I have been meaning to get four copies of the GBA one to play through the 4 Swords on it (which is completely different). I might just settle on three flash carts.

You did spark a neat idea with me. The whole, start a dungeon on the GBA finish it on the GB Player is simply brilliant. For some reason I never thought about that. It makes me want a GBA SP or Micro now - well and a Hori Pad.

When people were losing their shit over the four player co-op in New Super Mario Wii I smirked. I wondered what the big deal was? Zelda had already done it...twice.

But you're right, there's some really strange disconnect between Four Sword Adventures and the masses. I think the game would have been a lot more successful if Nintendo hadn't implemented the four gameboy advance control scheme. It's novel that you have your own screen to explore interiors on but (at least at the time) it was just too much hardware to require.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

yeah, I think it was promoted too strongly as a 4-Player game, making most people assume they needed three friends and four GBA's to play the damn thing.

The similarities (in terms of concept and game play) to Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles probably didn't help. And that game was total ass-hattery if you didn't have a buddy or two.

another game I've only played single-player.

FFCC single player is soso, two player it is crap, but three and four player it is awesome. In two player one of you have to carry the bucket, so it is just like single player just more annoying. Two years ago, Ack, Xentrix, Ack's girlfriend, and myself tried to beat it in a week. We got to the final stage of the final boss, severely "underleveled," and just couldnt beat it.

One of my goals in gaming is to play through FFCC on the five Gamecube setup with a dedicated group. Itll probably not happen anytime soon, but I can dream.

that does sound awesome. I personally really enjoy FFCC solo. I mean, I have nothing to compare it to. But still. I like it a lot. What can I say? I heart Moogles.
