Re: DIY Film Making interest?
So I recently obtained an Lumix GH1, my oldman isnt using it currently and said I could borrow it for a couple months (fair deal since he got a discount on a bunch of my gear for his current job). I have never shot with a DSLR, last camera I shot heavily on was a film camera actually - Arri S, so this will be an experience. I need to build/buy one of the shoulder steady cams, since I need to shoot footage for a documentary with it in a couple months.
My diy boompole from a light bulb changer was used last weekend on the film to much applause, Ill be making myself another one in the near future.

You will definitely need some sort of steadicam if you need handheld shots. I would recommend a monopod if you can avoid handheld shots at all. It's not as good as a tripod but it will help with the shakiness that comes from filming with a dslr.fastbilly1 wrote:So I recently obtained an Lumix GH1, my oldman isnt using it currently and said I could borrow it for a couple months (fair deal since he got a discount on a bunch of my gear for his current job).
