My first pinball machine!

Post by Unleaded Logic »

Picked up a 1972 Williams Swinger Pinball machine last weekend! I love the thing! I've been dying to get a pinball machine for awhile and I picked this up for a hell of a deal. The major issue with it was that the right flipper didn't work and that the play field had some damage, but overall the machine works well.

I've slowly been shopping it out as the previous owner didn't have it for very long and never asked the person who sold it to him how old the parts were. So far I've cleaned the playfield up, replaced the bulbs, rubbers and have a new flipper assembly on the way. This thing will be playing like new very soon! :)

I just can't get into the pinball machines earlier than the late 70s, but that's awesome that you got one and you're happy with it. I wish I had room for one. :)

I've never played or even seen a Swinger pinball machine before, but that's awesome! Hope you don't mind if I ask how much it cost, pinball machines always seem to go for more than arcade cabinets. Is that a picture of your machine, or just a picture of one of the same models, because if it's yours it looks great.

Unless Mike is posing in front of a Swinger machine in someone else's basement I'm pretty sure that's his.

Maybe he just swapped his Swinger machine with someone else's for the night.

Seriously, how ballsy is it that Williams made an arcade machine dedicated to swinging? Maybe it is just supposed to be about music, but the artwork makes me think that this is the pinball equivalent of Leisure Suit Larry.

Well, pinball parlors were dens of scum and villany. They were going to bring about the corruption of youth and the downfall of society, so yeah just like vidya games are doing now.

Yeah, its the first time I've ever heard of it as well when I read the listing. He sold it to me for 250 bucks which I thought was a great deal considering most pinball machines I've seen run in the 800-3000 range.

Yup, that's a picture of my machine! :)

I agree with you on the Leisure Suit Larry, that's the first thing I thought of. The music theme goes great with my work in progress studio though.
