And you have mozesus, complaing about how the patriot act sucks and some other people. For one thing the reason the patriot act had an updated version of a law passed in the 70s , about tracking your bank-records, was to stop -domestic-money laundering as well as terroism funding. However these CIP and know your customers programs, and auto-mated software programs which track your bank-usage to look for anolomies, you get 500 every month and then suddenly you get 5000? Not enought to search your house, but they have to file a report to FINCom or some other agency. It's funny there are two intelligences agencies dealing with money and drug dealers. That's what its mostly about and also if any ofyou drug dealers have more than 10,000 in cash thats illegal and you gotta tell the IRS> hahaha
And my point is, you have mozegus(sp) lamenting about the patriot act and other people, but you're just letting the government trample over you. You think it's wrong but you let it happen, in hopes one single person can save you. But that person is you, its old and corny, but it's true and it has worked plenty of times in the past. That's exactly why it would be nice if anyone else disagreeing with the war would start a petition like mine or at least send a letter to a congressman or anything besides nothing.

and also CIP is different from know your customer, know your customer means to know your customer. You basically keep a track of how they act, their presonalities and habits. So you can report something out of the ordinary. Very 1984 like.

The unfortunate truth mason, is that all the time a government is corrupt and funded by those who benefit from war, that's what you're gonna get. For as long as the general public want to stop the 'Evil I-raq' and 'protect our liberties', they'll support anything. Those two reasons themselves are why American's freedoms continue to be chipped away. A similar process is happening in the UK now as well (the PM is trying to keep accused terrorists in custody for up to 2 months without evidence). Thankfully it hasn't had much progress here in Canada yet, but Harper's shown himself to be slightly more lenient towards US policy than Chretien or Martin was, so who knows?

Edit: Notice how when something happens in France or other nations, there are huge riots, walk-outs, protests, etc.? Over the French law which bans religious clothing in public schools, several thousands protested, and that was small by their standards. How come that didn't happen in the US with the NSA wiretapping scandal, or the Patriot Act, or the Arar case when they sent an innocent man to be tortured and potentially killed in Syria? No one seems to care, or be willing to step up onto the plate and say, "Hey! This is bullshit!". Maybe you are, but without a majority, you're just a dumb kid with a piece of paper who can be ignored. No one can ignore a bunch of people on the streets with bats and torches. Not that I'm advocating looting and violent protests, but it'd get the point across a lot better than a few topless hippies with a hemp banner that says "Boobs not bombs"

I haven't read all of this thread, but I have to post this link given the subject. It's about the differences between the games preferred by liberals, conservatives and moderates. Yes, Zogby actually conducted such a poll.

I lean to the left, so seeing that most of the "red" gamers are Madden players just cracks me the hell up. And makes me smile.
