Comic-Con is coming up soon!! Anyone attending? I went last year and had a blast in San Diego. I'm especially looking forward to the gaming booths such as Capcom and the comics/anime of course. Hopefully some racketboy members are attending and can meet up!! 8)

Hope you got a hotel lined up already. One of the biggest events in San Diego. Right at the bay near downtown. Hint: Three hour free parking with validation inside the mall at Horton Plaza, 5 blocks away. Actually with the lines might almost take you that long to get in to the Convention Center. Its that big. Anyone have extra batteries for my gameboy?

I won't be there, but it'll be nice to see other racketboy members share their experiences. I recently reconnected with an old friend on facebook after seeing her pictures and comments about a comic con she attended in Philadelphia. That led to some fun conversation. She actually got to meat the Iron Sheik and Patrick Stewart! Very witty guy Patrick Stewart is according to her

Ugh I wanted soo badly to go this year! I haven't attended before, but I was saving up plenty of cash for it this year but then my friends bailed on me and I found out it was all sold out already. Boo! I'll be watching from G4 again...I look forward to hearing accounts of it from some of the attending members here though. 8)

I will be attend this year's Comic-con with my bro, which will the first time for both of us; but we'll just attend the first day.

Any hints for what to bring, and what to expect (long-lines, little A/C?)?

Expect long lines and I would bring some snacks, water, and comfortable shoes since you will be doing lots of walking and standing in lines. :)

GET THERE EARLY. Already costumed characters appearing. A local Lemonade fund raiser for cancer had some attendees wearing Star Wars soldier costumes. Like a Billy Idol concert the audience sometimes more fun to look at.

If you have a couple extra days, Mexico (need passport) is just 15 minutes south and beaches all around San Diego.
Sea World, San Diego Zoo and few hours north linefests Disneyland, Knotts and Six Flags.

Musta flown in last year. :D

Well, I don't think I be doing any crazy things, as my bro and I will only be attending the first day of Comic-Con, just to get the taste of going to a mega convention.

It is my goal to eat at a In-n-Out while I am there, never eaten there before.

In-N-Out is great but if you ever get the chance, you gotta check out Freds.

Nearest one is in National City. I think the best one is in Kearny Mesa, a nice pit stop on the way to FRYS Electronics nearby.

One of the reviews at the link caught my eye:

カリフォルニアに来たら食べなきゃバーガー...‎
By トリップアドバイザー会員 - Mar 14, 2010
マック、バーキン、ウェンディーズなど大手全米チェーンバーガー屋ではなく、カリフォルニアにしかないいつも混雑しているハンバーガ屋。 メニューは数種類しかなく、従業員は明るい。黄色のZ矢印とIN-N-OUTの赤い文字が目印とにかく混んでいるので ...‎

This in an area filled with Asian restaurants, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese. :D

So close to border gotta try Mexican food while you visit. I prefer not a fancy place but Los Panchos, not at touristry downtown location but in the South Bay on 3rd. Really great eats! Salsa bar the best!
