There seems to be a trend of these type of busts/raids happening right around the Christmas period. To me, it seems like big organisations like the RIAA are just thinking about maximum profit in holiday season, so that's why a lot of these sites bite the dust around this time. I wouldn't be surprised if we see the same sites, and/or several new ones pop up within the new year.

Well, in the IRC channel, one of the ops flat out stated in the channel title for a while that Demonoid WILL come back in some form no matter what.mason wrote:i don't think they will and there were even rumors before that demnoid wasn't a safe site. I hope someone else makes a site just like demonoid.
um.... they're not blocking anyone now.
"The CRIA threatened the company renting the servers to us, and because of this it is not possible to keep the site online. Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for your understanding."
My proxy from elsewhere can't get in either, so I know they're not just blocking the U.S. either.
