Ah the battery's dead my friend (or there just isn't one). The Saturn has internal battery back up memory. It saves the time and date, as well as a few games. Just open up the back panel (you should see it easily on the back of your saturn) and insert a new battery. It's a C322 something or other... Sorry I can't remember, but someone here will know. It's the same as the Dreamcast VMU takes. They sell them on the racketboy store, so have a look.

The battery is a CR 2032.

Highly suggest getting a Panasonic or other electronics brand with a reputation branded one as I initially bought one from a dollar tree store and it died really fast (luckily I save to my cart for every game that allows it)

Just got a pack of 5, thanks guys.

Also, I think I'm about to win a bid on a giant lot. Basically it's a big list of Saturn games, and you get to pick 5. Here's the games on the list I don't already have:

Mystaria: The Realms of Lore (complete)
Panzer Dragoon II Zwei (complete)
Rampage World Tour (complete)
Steep Slope Sliders (complete)
Area 51 (complete)
Brain Dead 13 (complete)
Bug! (no manual, broken case)
Clockwork Knight (complete)
Clockwork Knight 2 (complete)
Crusader No Remorse (complete)
Die Hard Trilogy (complete)
Double Switch (Sealed)
Gex (complete)
Grid Runner (complete)
Gun Griffon (complete)
The Horde (complete)
In The Hunt (manual, but not original case)
Iron Man/X-O Manowar in Heavy Metal The Horde (complete)
Jurassic Park: Lost World (manual, no case, CD is dirty)
Last Bronx (complete)
Myst (complete)
NHL '97 The Horde (complete)
Sega Rally Championship International Rally (complete)
Sky Target (manual, but not original case)
Sonic 3D Blast (complete)
Sonic R (complete)
Street Fighter Alpha: Warriors' Dreams (case only, no manual)
Tomb Raider (no manual, broken case)
Virtua Cop 2 & Boxed Stunner (complete)
Virtua Fighter 2 (CD only)
Winter Heat'98 (complete)
X-Men: Children if the Atom (complete)

What do you guys think?

X-Men and Virtua cop are no brainers for me, but after than, I'm not sure.

How much are you paying?

If I were you, I'd definitely grab these:

Clockwork Knight
Clockwork Knight 2
Last Bronx
Virtua Cop 2 & Stunner
X-Men: Children of the Atom

I'm not a big fan of platformers, but considering how much Clockwork Knight 2 goes for, you likely won't find it again for a good price if you want it.

If you like strategy RPGs, Mystaria: The Realms of Lore likely wouldn't be a bad choice either. And Last Bronx can be found for relatively cheap, so you might not waste it as a slot, though it is a fun little 3D weapons fighter. But take note of what region each of these games are coming from. Are they all NTSC-U, NTSC-J, or PAL?

OK. I've very close to getting a modchip, but I'm not exactly sure about the burned game part. Do the roms off of an emu site work fine, or is there some other way i have to go about it.

snesorama is the best place to get your Saturn images (cartridge based systems = Rom, cd based systems = image).

In my opinion if you really like fighting games Fighters Megamix does not equal VF2+Fighting Vipers. Just throwing that out there. I always preferred both games individually to Megamix. There's not much difference but Fighting Vipers in its own element I just enjoyed better.

I feel ya that VF2 and FV should be enjoyed independently of Fighters Megamix, but I still prefer Fighters Megamix - not because of all the VF2 and FV characters, but because of everything else in the game. Where the hell else can you see Daytona USA's Hornet fighting a character made out of meat products?

I've always loved Fighters Megamix. I prefer it to VF2 and FV individually to be honest. But that said, VF2 plays better and looks better. I'm really contradicting myself here... I just find Fighters Megamix more fun to play though. I think it's all the extra stuff they crammed onto the disc and all the unlockables.
