Are there any? Any that weren't ported to the game gear? Also, were allthe ports pretty much the exact same game?
I had a friend who has a master system and I just remember all the games blew :-/
I'm sure there is a game or two that could change my mind, so what are they?
Master system games that are worth a damn?

Wonderboy III: Dragon's Trap
Psycho Fox
Mickey Mouse Castle of Illusion
Basketball Nightmare
Golden Axe Warrior
Zillion
Ghost Busters
Penguin Land
Fantasy Zone
Like all consoles, there was tonnes of mass-market shovel-ware. But like all consoles, there were plenty of gems worth playing.

Alex Kidd in Miracle World (stay away from Lost Stars)
Phantasy Star
I think Elvis covered most of the rest.
Seconding Penguin Land though, it was a pretty fun game. I remember flipping out when I realized it had a level editor.

There are plenty of great games for the Master System. You can't deny that Phantasy Star is a bad game; you would be attacked for even mentioning it! The MS versions of Sonic the Hedgehog 1&2 are also quite something, and let's not forget about.. you know what, screw it. Read this link, like you should have done before even starting this thread:

the SMS was really impressive. And it last FOREVER in other countries. Like in Brazil they were still pumping out ports of 16 bit games into the mid 90's.

I'd also like to add it had a fantastic R-Type port (and an OK Double Dragon one)

Anybody got an answer for the port question? I like to always get the best version of games, so does anybody know which gamegear ports were different and not straight ports from the master system?
