Replace DS Housing

Hey guys (and possibly gals),

I will be getting a DS Lite in the mail that I bought off of a user on this forum and got a great deal on it because it has a broken hinge. I am wanting to replace the housing with an aftermarket one. However I was wondering if anyone could point me towards an extremely in depth tutorial on how to do it. I watched a video on Youtube and it looked pretty delicate and I am scared that I will break something or forget how to get it back together.

Any help would be great.

The tutorial that I used was the one on supermodchips channel on youtube, it's a 3 or 4 part video-tutorial, it shows what to do and gives warning on what to pull or how fragile some parts are. Thanks to that I Changed my white dslite in a black one with white buttons

Which shell do you plan on getting? It does not affect how you install it, Im just curious if you are getting a standard color (like black ), or if you are getting something fancy like clear or camouflage colored.

Sorry to possibly derail the topic, but is there anything like this for the original DS, maybe I could use a DS Lite case on the original?

The DS won't fit into a DS Lite case.

If you want a video on disassembling the DS I think the links already provided will have links to other videos by the same authors respectively but doing the DS instead of the Lite.
