DS Homebrew Terms
Ok i am making a homebrew website for NDS GP2X DC and maybe GBA. And I just have a couple of questions concerning the correct terminology.
1) Does Rom refer to commercial games or is it simple a game file?
2) It there a specfic word for homebrew games?
Thanks

Re: Terms
I've heard the term "homebrew ROMs" used many times, so I assume that is correct.abeisgreat wrote:Ok i am making a homebrew website for NDS GP2X DC and maybe GBA. And I just have a couple of questions concerning the correct terminology.

The term refers to a file which contains a binary dump of the contents of a cartridge, which is traditionally a ROM chip although DS/GBA carts which I assume must have EPROM chips. So yeah if someone were to say that they had some ROM files I'd assume they meant commercial games but it could also be correctly used to talk about homebrew titles as well.
