Hardmodding a softmodded oXbox. Possible?

Post by nickfil »

Just like the title says. I have a softmodded xbox I'm looking to drop a chip into. But I'm hesitant because I don't know if it is possible. Has anyone done it?

Would I be better off just getting a second xbox and chipping that?

It should be just the same as hardmodding a stock xbox. But what's your benefit? The only one I can see is that it's easier to replace the hard drive, but doing so with a softmod is still easier than installing a chip

You could flash the TSOP from a softmod, and a few wires soldered. probably easier than a. Installing a chip and b. sourcing one.

You can hardmod any xbox even if it's softmodded.
I recommend TSOP flashing ver 1.0-1.5 and chipping ver 1.6(a)(b)(c)
If you have a ver 1.0-1.5 you can just solder bridge the write enable points on the MoBo and use eurasia pro flasher to flash the TSOP

I wonder if one can TSOP flash an xbox with error codes. :)

He's write though, I bought a TSOP flashed Xbox from Jinn and just this week I installed a 750gb SATA internal hard drive, using a PATA to SATA adapter. I'm just about done with everything. I used Auto Installer Deluxe 4.5 to set everything up. It works great. Only thing Im doing now, is trying to get MUGEN to work. Its got 1396 playable characters. Its the hugest fighting game on the planet. :)

Also, make sure you use XBpartioner to setup your drive. I had to set the F drive at 137gb or less, formatted at 16K clusters for MUGEN to work. The rest of the memory is on my G drive. and a little is in my E drive. :)

I have been able to TSOP flash a few XBOX system with error 5, 13, 14 and version 1.0-1.1 with bad TSOP image.

Never max out E: drive on the XBOX HD it will freeze when trying to save and will boot to a black screen.

you can format F: drive with 16kb clusters up to 250GB after that you need to format with 32kb or 64kb depends on the size.

Glad you are enjoying the XBOX. Hope you can upload some pics of the LED mod I did to show members.
