Anyone else think the new "Marcus" commercials are lame?
I think I liked the older dorky guy they were using for Sony's commercials a lot better. Marcus just seems annoying and not much else

I think Marcus is just the spokesperson for the PSP, and yeah, he's annoying as hell. I must not be in Sony's target demographic for those ads, because I think slapping the shit out of Marcus would be more fun than a PSP.

I don't get "Marcus" either.
On the hierarchy of corporate shills, he ranks somewhere around the level of Jared from Subway. I don't understand how Subway expected Jared, who has a complete wiener personality and the sex appeal of a biscuit with two shits in it, to sell sandwiches.
It's the same thing going on with Marcus. I don't understand how a loud, abrasive kid is supposed to make me want to get a PSP. I'd prefer the Mexican dustballs from the PSP-1000 era over Marcus.
If I were in Sony's marketing team, I'd suggest getting Keith Apicary to shill PSPs. Somehow, though, I fear that the people who enjoy and understand Keith aren't among the PSP's core demographic.

I dunno. Annoying little street urchins are pretty much exactly the largest demographic of the PSP.
I mean, I love my PSP. I take it with me everywhere I go. It was more than worth the $90 I spent on it. I've even noticed that there are a lot more mentally-balanced adult users of the PSP than the DS - but that doesn't change the fact that far and away most the people using them are spoiled brats with a superiority complex.

"Marcus" was funny in "Role Models"...that is about where it ends. The guy that has been in the commercials was funny as shit in the old Geico commercials...

No, get Trale Lewous. He's the salesman. If I were in Sony's marketing team, I'd suggest getting Keith Apicary to shill PSPs. Somehow, though, I fear that the people who enjoy and understand Keith aren't among the PSP's core demographic.

They are trying to get into Nintendo's younger market and it's worked on a couple of my friends lil bros. Odd contrast to the older demographic Sony was originally pushing for.
Older. Not wiser.

I've been trying to pinpoint the PSP's core demographic for years, and that is the exact conclusion I came to. I see DS's being played in malls and suburbs, but I see PSPs being played in cities and bars. There's a serious correlation here.the7k wrote:I dunno.
