sega dreamcast question

Post by mas »

I have been missing the arcade experience lately and I know that there are dreamcast roms for snes nes and genesis because i had them at one point but that was 8 years ago so I'm just wondering if there is a mame roms for the dreamcast. I remember the nes roms ran slow back then but if there is a mame disc for the dreamcast how does it run? I'm looking for games from the 80's to mid 90's or so and if there is a disc does someone or can anyone make me a copy? I will buy the disc from you guys. I would do it my self but i have a laptop and my drive shit the bed so I'm out of luck because I'm missing beats of rage also and that sucks. Please let me know thank you very much

mame runs slow, like 80% running somewhat okay. games can take up to 25 seconds to minutes to start up.

No problems here, I found older games such as Arkanoid and Pacman running crisp on the HD. Beats playing on PC monitor.

Nes games are all full speed, but the Snes is horrible. As for Mame, many games are full speed, and run great, but like others have said, the loading is what takes the longest.

Agreed. The same goes for NeoGeo4All. Some games run ok. But for the most part the emulation just isn't solid enough for me to waste my time with. Not when I can play them all on my Mac with no issues.

I wouldn't say SNES emulation is "horrible". Far from it. DreamSNES is far from perfect, I agree, but if you configure the settings right, a lot of games are perfectly playable. Some games are close to perfect (Donkey Kong Country, Chrono Trigger and Earthbound come to mind), and some suffer slight slowdown, but are still perfectly playable. There's quite a few that are just unplayable or not worth it though, I'm not denying that.

NeoGeo4All is also pretty good for some games in my opinon. Metal Slug and a few other games I have (I forget which ones) run fine. Some do however suffer badly from slowdown.

It's up to you really whether you want to try them though.

Agree, enjoy the games, of course some games run a little slow, its an EMU.
The best part, all those carts and Arcade cabinets on just a few space saving convenient discs.
