I have been really into the TCG lately, and wondered if there were any other duelists on Racketboy. And yes, I know the Yugioh Wikia has a community.

Re: Any other Yu-Gi-Oh! players?
I used to play the video game, until the heart of the cards broke my heart :'(
Seriously this game has very fun rules, but really really ugly cards, and when it comes to the grown up audience the anime did it more bad than good (but then again it got so many kids to buy this instead of magic the gathering)

I played one of the DS games - Nightmare Troubadour I think?
It seemed to me that the cards and rules are ok-ish for some casual gameplay, but would break a lot in tournament gameplay. I never really played seriously so this is just a gut feeling.
I also didn't appreciate the art style much.
Ivo.

I played it a lot a couple years back; I went to a boarding school for my first year of High School, and a couple kids there played it, so I started playing again while I was there. I left the school, though, and now I don't play the card game anymore, I still like to play the GBA game, Eternal Duelist's Soul, frequently.

the DS is a perfect fit for the game (and the genre). 3D "holograms" like the anime and a touch interface makes it a lot more fun. Too bad the story mode is so crap. I got stuck in the 2009 version cause I had to give away a specific card to advance in the story. I didn't have that card, and had no idea how to find it.lisalover1 wrote:I played it a lot a couple years back; I went to a boarding school for my first year of High School, and a couple kids there played it, so I started playing again while I was there. I got Nightmare Troubadour as a Christmas present, and I'm glad I kept it, since it seems like a somewhat rare game now. I have a hard time finding it in Gamestop or other stores.ZeroAX wrote:the DS is a perfect fit for the game (and the genre). 3D "holograms" like the anime and a touch interface makes it a lot more fun. really? these games are like sports game. Each year a new version comes out and no one plays the old one. But I guess people don't trade these in.lisalover1 wrote:I got Nightmare Troubadour as a Christmas present, and I'm glad I kept it, since it seems like a somewhat rare game now. I used to play back in 2003/4. Last pack I actually bought was Pharonic Guardian.

I played a lot until 5Ds came out.
Edit: I'm the same age as you, I remembered playing YuGiOh in 5th grade

Used to play a lot and go to tournaments. Won a trophy for it too, a huge pyramid puzzle thing. Quit when WoW entered my life though...
