To be honest I can imagine Sony not even trying a PSP2.

Well, it's not I am saying that the PSP is TOTAL failure, it just had the wrong start:
High pricing compared to Nintendo DS (for the price of PSP + 1 game, I did get a DS + Meteos + Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow )
Movies on UMD that cost more than regular DVDs
A media management program that cost you money - thank you for the free Media Go (like 2 years late!)

But again, I do like the user interface of the PSN, and the improvements on Media Go, so for one, Sony has managed to run a good on-line store as well as media management. So what's basically left is the system and games, and PRICING!!!

What people should be aware of is that the PSP screen is still sharper than the 3DS, its just that the PSP no longer has the "wow" factor after this year's E3, this is where Sony has to know what cards to play in the next 2 years. Even if the PSP2 is to show up later in the Tokyo Game Show, it wouldn't be available to buyers until mid-2011.

really? you think people will find glasses free 3D foreign but they won't mind paying 2000$ to watch glasses mandatory 3D movies at home? You know unless Nintendo has some kind of patent about a handheld 3D console you should really be ripping them off as much as you can. They haven't done wrong in the portable market yet, and with the momentum the 3DS has right now I don't see them losing, even to Apple and it's iphone, any time soon.

At least there is a timeline for the 3DS to be release, but no further details as well as the launch price for it.

In business world, don't always take the words of businessmen as stone-written; this isn't in a court appearance while under oath, or on the record.

Remember Sony has the capability to turn things around when necessary, so do other companies if they need to stay in competition, just look at Move and Kinect.

Again Sony has at least 6-months to come up with a counter-3DS handheld, as the 3DS won't be available (at least in NA) until March 2011, which is 9-months away (maybe a good time to start saving money!)

you really think those crappy add ons are going to sell? Heck the Mega CD and 32X were more useful than those things.

Well, these are post is regards to a JP retailer listing that included a title PSP-4000 without a set date. I do remember the rumors of a PSP-4000 that started from last year, prior to the PSPgo, and later in response to the disappointing sales of the the PSPgo; and recently one of Sony's top execs thought the lack of a physic media hurt the sales of the PSPgo (thou I would beg to differ).

If the title of PSP-4000 is true, I think this is Sony's one last shot to make it right before setting off for the PSP2.
