Hey, it's better than having to replace the console. Instead of a rant on not saving, how about a rant on being glad you don't have to get it repaired or cough up another few hundred bucks for a new one.

Indeed, to spin this to a car analogy:

I'd rather have my oil light/check engine light/whatever alert me or even drop most of the power and force me to pull over and stop if there's a problem with my car (that's not already obvious from a noise) and make me late to my destination instead of letting me carry on and really cause damage to the car.

That hot air has to come from somewhere though. It's alarming that it's already kicking a lot of hot air out, means that average temperatures inside the case are far higher than the Jasper Elite. I've played BC2 for hours on my Jasper Elite and felt round the back and the air is just warm, not hot, like the air pouring out of my PS3 when it has been on for a couple of hours.

Not that I'd ever buy one of these monstrosities, but that warning system seems a little abrupt. It should automatically save your game before it shuts down, or at least give you the option to. I mean, surely it could give you a warning to save when the temperatures hit 10% below threshold. Wouldn't be too hard to ask?

I knew I should have clarified. The hot air(from the side) is equivalent to that coming out of the back vents of the jasper.

Bad when the newest console still has a short run time though. Heat still a problem. Why not pump up the cooling system to run all day like a PC or Mac?

Another rant.
PS3 and 360 advertising consoles as a Home Media Center so how about make consoles as a component box, standard rectangular foot printed as the DVD, Blueray and DVR? Those designer curves are not made for stacking!

I have a Falcon, while playing some Conviction today for about a hour I put my hand near the exhaust vents, and I gotta say it didnt feel too hot at all, now the Japsers run cooler than the Falcons, so I gotta say hot air, any hot air is a worry.

If we all jump back a few pages I said this would happen, people said NOOOOO, bitches I was right.

For comparison A wii with wii connect 24 gets hotter than the vent area of the 360 s. It is hard to tell you how hot it gets unless you actually feel it.
