Just got myself a new CRT tv (Panasonic Quintrix TX-21AP1)
Its a real nice set, Very flat screen, Nicam, Square sided - Ideal for rotating
The idea was to use this set for all my Standard Def consoles.
And its almost fulfilled it!
Mame PC running soft15k vga>scart
Saturn etc
all fine
Except the DC, all I get is a black screen with audio
Arghhh!
New TV, Dreamcast scart issues!
Re: New TV, Dreamcast scart issues!
Mostly likely you're missing the proper voltage signals to make the CRT TV switch into RGB mode. What you're feeding your TV is a pure RGB signal, but you're missing the voltage signals which are usually present on pin 8 and 16 of the Scart cables to tell the TV that an actual RGB signal is incoming.
I would check the cable to see if they are present. Its also possible that your cable is faulty.

Not all DC games are RGB compatible, Gunbird 2 for instance has to be patched to get it through RGB, I know this to be true of PAL systems so I assume it's the same on NTSC ones
