Sony E3 Press Conference
Re: Sony E3 Press Conference
What concerns me more is that I think Mario is an agent of the MCP.

I think that Gabe is a liar. Why would you trash the ps3 for years, then suddenly say it is the best thing ever? *money*
Re: Sony E3 Press Conference
Little Big Planet 2 looks like an enormous improvement over the original, Twisted Metal is Twisted Metal, and Heroes on the Move has a ton of potential. I wasn't that disappointed, despite the fact that it took ages to get to the point.
I think Move has potential, since it could improve upon the Wii remote's accuracy (a larger light source that doesn't revolve player modifications) and because the light source is at the player, rather than on the television. Things like tracking are only possible in that configuration. People made homebrew titles on Wii where the Wii remote was placed on the television, with a light source attached to a hat to give head tracking. No retail game has ever taken advantage of such a setup, which Move could potentially do out of the box. That would require quite a bit of optimism to think that any developer could uniquely take advantage of motion controls... No one seems to tread any new ground lately.
Though it doesn't have anything to do with PS3 exclusivity, holy shit Portal 2 looks impressive. Color me excited.

Re: Sony E3 Press Conference
I think Sony paid him A LOT of money for the Portal 2 reveal. And if that's the 'big surprise' for E3 I'm seriously pissed off. We already knew that Portal 2 was coming. Who gives a shit about it being on PS3?yomomma1 wrote:I think that Gabe is a liar. Why would you trash the ps3 for years, then suddenly say it is the best thing ever? *money*

Fucking.
Dammit.
He said it'd be "the best version on any console" he never said he liked the PS3. I'm getting tired of this shit about Gabe Newell being a fan boy.
EDIT: Okay I watched the E3 feed from GT and now I see where you're coming from. (earlier I read the story on DToid) He still didn't say it was going to be the best tine ever.
Damn straight, Valve are PC developers first.enderfall wrote:Seriously. If I play Portal 2, it'll be on the PC for sure.Niode wrote:Who gives a shit about it being on PS3?

Re: Sony E3 Press Conference
I thought all 3 press conferences were disappointing. Nintendo's was probably best but really didnt get me excited for anything. Donkey Kong Country could be and should be a WiiWare game and in my opinion was the most exciting thing shown. Metroid looked like it at least belongs in the current genereation. 3DS will most likely be cool, but ill reserve judgment until I have one in my hands. Zelda looked like an unresponsive gamecube game. All that said, and I think the big N had the best show out of the big 3.
Sony was completely boring and besides some early comedy, it seemed like it kept dragging on and on. The Twisted Metal showed up and at least left me with a smile. Motion controls are so 3 years ago, but Sony's does look like it has potential. Its too late in the game to get the casuals i think, and I personally dont care to get one. All in all, looks like the best motion/camera combo on the market.
MS press conference gave me nothing to look forward to. Not to big a fan of the new Xbox design. Like the touch buttons and size, but not the shape. I like the old 360s curves. I also wish it didnt have a disk tray. Kinect looks cool, just not for gaming. I wish my TV or cable box had it build in... that would be a cool use, to navigate channels through the guide without a remote. Hopefully they find a good use in gaming for it though and prove me wrong.

I'm going to ask you to defend this statement. Why does DKC look like a WiiWare game?superlarz wrote:Donkey Kong Country could be and should be a WiiWare game and in my opinion was the most exciting thing shown.
