Mr. Woodcock: Well, it was better than Avatar. I don't know what I was expecting, but it was just pretty "meh."
I actually saw "Castle Freak" several years ago. I don't recall having a terribly positive impression of the film.

Cop Out. Kevin Smith tried, at least I'll give him that.. Hollywood must learn that the 80s buddy cop formula belongs to the 80s, and that even modern day homages wouldn't work. The high point was the Harold Faltermeyer retro synth score, which I had acquired months prior to watching this

Remember how Transformers 2 was a horrible piece of shit summer action movie? A Team is no where near that. Its actually good and makes enough sense for it to be passable as a Summer action movie. The only faults are that the camera is a bit too shaky for some scenes but other than that its good fun.

I'm not as sure as you about the A-Team. While Bay's Transformers 2 was pure comedy gold and an insult to the fanboys (a good thing in my book) critics have slammed the A-Team quite harshly, and I wasn't that fond of the original show to begin with. Too bad theaters don't refund disgruntled viewers

To Kill A Mockingbird- one amazing book, written very well, the most amazing characters in the history of American literature, all translate extremely well onto the screen. I have always loved Greg Peck and this movie just makes me love him more- one of the greatest of all times.- A
Maniac Cop- this is a "classic" Bruce Campbell movie that I have heard many people praise. After my viewing though I was just bored, not much of Bruce, the deaths were all too standard, and it was just dull. I love Bruce, but this one just didn't do it for me C-

I've never seen the original A-Team show so I can't really compare the two. Critics on movies on something else I don't care much for. I judge seeing a movie on the merits of the director if anything. Joe Carnahan made Narc and Smoking Aces. Both obviously different from each other but I found them both entertaining and A-Team is just the same, an entertaining movie with a pretty good cast for the characters. Transformers 2 though was just straight garbage and nothing is absolutely redeemable about it.Pulsar_t wrote:I'm not as sure as you about the A-Team. I'm with OldSchool_Boy on the A-Team movie.
I went to see it today and I thought it was very entertaining. The cast was solid. I must say I'm not a fan of the way a lot of action films are shot today. The close up and moving the camera so fast you can't tell what is going on. There was a lot of that in the A-Team.
On a side note.... Toy Story 3 comes out Friday! I will be there on the first showing and encourage everyone else to go

Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
Tenure: More indie crap starring Luke Wilson. There honestly were a few scenes that I thought were hilarious, like both of the major poetry scenes. However, there was a lot of long, boring stretches of indie quirk and general stupidity. The scenes that are actually funny are great, but they only comprise a couple of minutes of an overly-long film.
