I disagree. Saw 2 was torture porn, but I thought the first one had a lot of redeeming features.

Pandorum: This movie got bad reviews from the critics, but seems to have gotten generally positive reviews from the general folks and sci-fi fans who saw it. It starts off as a fairly tense sci-fi horror film, with the fairly unoriginal premise of a couple of guys waking up and not remembering who they are. Soon, though, the film shifts into more of a post-disaster action film, complete with The Road Warrior-like elements.

The story has a couple of glaring problems, but they aren't enough to get in the way of a really fun movie. Paul W.S. Anderson is involved, but only as a producer.

Jesse Stone: Thin Ice OK, I didn't really make it all the way through this movie. Tom Selleck plays a grumpy old man who wears his pants too high. Apparently, in the books the character is supposed to be a lot younger, but Selleck plays him as a grumpy old man in the TV-movie adaptations. The film opens with the title character and a friend hanging out in a car, when a guy for no previously explained reason starts shooting the car up. The shooter is standing to the driver's side of the car, at least ten yards away, but somehow manages to put bullet holes straight through both the driver's side door and straight through the windshield by himself. The movie goes down-hill from there. It was bad, but not enjoyably enough to be worth finishing.
Somehow, this film is rated, like, 7.0 out of 10 on imdb.

Saw 1 was certainly different, but it set in motion its heinous sequels which popularised torture porn as an alternative to traditional horror, which had been heavy on torture elements to begin with.

It seems the A-Team is yet another stinker of a remake, ruining yet another campy 80s show. They'll never stop until they strip the 80s of any remaining dignity. At least Robot Chicken did it in style

In John Frankenheimer's The Train I found a great WWII war movie that tackled the absurdity of the human cost behind war. One of the best 60s movies I've watched so far. My only complaint was the lack of French nuancing from the lead actors, but otherwise it was top notch. If you like train-themed movies be sure not to miss this one!

Shutter Island: This one is about as predictable as Pandorum. As expected, it is certainly competently directed, and a nice reflection of more old-fashioned filmmaking. It was a fun movie, and I had fun watching it. It was not particularly deep or profound or surprising. All in all, it is a better film than Pandorum, but I kind of expect a little better coming from Scorsese. Perhaps I shouldn't, as I only seem to really like his films about fifty percent of the time. As a pleasant change of pace, by the end of the film there really is very little ambiguity about what has taken place. Usually films like this try to leave you wondering what's really going or or something like that.

Another one I wanted to see. Most people told me it was bad, but how? Scorsese and Leo? That's like... too great a combo to be bad! I also like that you said the ending actually is an ending. I'm getting pretty tired of the whole "we arent gona tel u wut hapennd so u cn intrprttt howevverrr u wntt lol".

Scorsese intentionally left a bit of ambiguity for simpletons to obsess over, but it was all pretty obvious after the story wrapped up. If you want some fruitcake reading material just visit the movie's IMDb forum. Also, it's very overrated but hardly 'bad'. Scorsese knows how to entertain.

Truer words have been spoken, I've just never heard them. Anyway, definitely gonna see this one in the near future. I always love a movie that incorporates psyche into itself somehow.

Alright the past few days I have watched

Feast- one of the greatest horror movies I have ever seen, awesome mix of comedy, gore, some jumps, it was great, only problem, NO BOOBS, other than that amazing, Henry Rollins steals the show- A

Feast II: Sloppy Seconds- after watching the first one I had to go get the second, and I was not disappointed, it wasn't as funny as I had hoped but there were some good scenes, the most memorable being the baby death scene, this one had boobs too ha, overall-- B

Machine Girl- movie about a girl who has one arm, and is seeking revenge, her amputated arm becomes a machine gun/chainsaw and kicks some major ass, really gorey, done similarly to Tokyo Gore Police- fun movie overall- B

Castle Freak- Stuart Gordon and Jeffery Combs and Barbara Crampton-- all time great combination, this movie delivers again, story of a family that moves into an inherited Castle to find someone else is still living in it, not so over the top as say Re- Animator, but certainly good, overall- B
