The goal left me feeling cheated since I had no clue what happened until they showed the replay I didn't get the jumping celebration moment when he scored. Although I'm happy they won.
Can't say EA has a curse for their NHL franchise since their cover boy scored the Cup clinching goal!
The EA-version-of-the-curse-of-the-Bambino has been lifted!

Too bad the Cubs will never beat that goat. I'm afraid my dad will refuse to die until the Cubs go all the way.

Agreed about winning in OT - would have been even better if it was game 7 (and a Flyers win, hehe). Just seems that the two teams up for the Stanley Cup fought the hardest so the games should be as close as possible - I was interested to hear that there have been few, if any, 4 game sweeps in the Cup finals.

As for the goal, awkward way to win/lose. I think the players new, though. The Flyers seemed to acknowledge immediately that it was a goal and the Hawks obviously had no doubt. It was the fans who I feel the worst for. I knew quite a lot of people who went to the game and they didn't see a replay of what actually happened until they got home. Apparently they didn't show it at the Wach.

Huh? There have been 14 sweeps since the 1967 expansion alone, including
Pens sweeping the Blackhawks in '92, and there were four straight sweeps '95-'98.! What exactly did you "hear"?

Hah! I think this was a "stat" Pierre McGuire threw out at the end of yesterday's game.

God...I hate the whole Versus crew. I miss Gary Thorne and Bill Clement.

Agreed, Clement is one of my favorites. He knows his stuff and announces a serious game, but is able to throw in a quirky comment now and then without degrading the game. Jim Jackson of the Flyers crew is also very good. He and Clement do many Flyers games together when Keith Jones is working for Versus and they are my favorite games to listen to.

Should of just put a decal on it or some other way to support it, the helmet makes it look a little less the king of the jungle and a little more rides the short bus.

Don't forget, this is the city that once filled itself with a bunch of garishly painted cows.
