ok, so ive been playing alll day, hopefull i will at least beat richter tonight, and start the inverted castle tomorrow, on my way to get the silver ring! I feel like the further I get in the game, the more fun it is, simply because one has more items other than that, its been very standard, I think its a great game, but not nearly one of the best ever, and certainly not my favorite Castlevania game

I think its used in the inverted castle to get some item. IMO, the inverted castle was a lot more enjoyable since you had a chance to play through it as a completely upgraded badass.

I keep getting my ass handed to me in the inverted castle... I blew through the first castle with no problem, but am having trouble getting from save point to the next without dying in the inverted castle.

Finally made it to the inverted castle after two days of playing, I'm beat so no more games for tonight, but I will pick it up again tomorrow, hopefully it will be much faster the second time around- I dont know yet if Im going to rush the inverted castle or if I will just find my Dracula pieces( I think that is what I have to do) and then fight Dracula, either way, I'm glad I have gotten so far through the game, I feel that at the end of this there will be a great sense of accomplishment for having finally completed the first of my ten games, and a game that I have wanted to beat for so long! And for those wondering, after Castlevania I will take a day or two break and then move onto Ico!

You won't be far off, it felt awesome to beat Symphony of the Night the first time. And I think you'll really enjoy Ico, it's a nice game, and a quick runthrough.

About 6 hours to beat it, it was quite short. However, it took me several days, and I feel it's more enjoyable spaced out then if you just blast through it all at once. As I have the PAL version there is a new game +for me to enjoy later, but I hear thecool extras entailed within aren't in the US version.

Just knocked out the entire Megaman: Wily Wars and I'm starting up Megaman Zero Collection. It feels good to get back to my 2D roots.

I actually think that this could apply to any of the games people plan on beating. One of the temptations I find that I have to resist is just trying to beat a game for the sake of having beaten it. Rushing the experience can easily ruin it.

totally agreed. Most games I feel really "connected" to are ones that I really had to put time into, slowly explore, and got to know.
