I got an Xbox!

Post by swiftzx »

I haven't got a new system in a while until I got this beast! I was talking with a friend on the 2nd to last day of school when we were talking about last generation and he brought up the Xbox. I told him that I was looking for one and he told me he was going to sell his to me for $35 with the console, a controller, cords, Halo 2, and the strategy guide to Halo 2. Once I told my friends that I got an Xbox, another one of my friends gave me Tony Hawk Pro Skater 4! I also bought a copy of Crazy taxi 3 since I liked the first one on Dreamcast. What are your favorite games on it/recommend on it? If there is are some games that you would like to trade/sell to me, shoot me a pm.

Get Steel Battalion and Jade Empire. Steel Battalion's got that awesome controller and is one of the best mech games I've ever played, and Jade Empire is some Bioware martial arts goodness. And you get to beat up John Cleese.

If you like adventure games [I mean REAL adventure games, not action/adventure], then try out Dreamfall: The Longest Journey. It's a great port of the PC game, and is a thuroughly enjoyable adventure game.

Also, get your Xbox hacked as soon as possible. I'm sure there are some people on this forum that will let you rent the supplies you need to do it. Once you get it hacked, you open up a world of possibilities, including the sublime XBMC Media Center; which is, in my opinion, the best media center program out there. If you want to go a step further, I highly recommend installing a larger hard drive on the Xbox. I put a 500 GB one in mine, and I have it nearly filled up with games, emulators, and videos.

I just bought one myself from a yard sale last weekend. For $20, I got the system (which looks like shit but works fine), two wireless controllers, 5 broken controllers, 13 broken games and 2 working ones (The Warriors and Arx Fatalis).

There's so many great games for the Xbox, such an under-rated system. Plus every single multiplatform game is superior on it (assuming you prefer the controller).

Very good clarification there. Jade Empire I consider to be better on the Xbox because the way it controls is perfectly designed for the controller, while KOTOR definitely benefitted from the mouse+keyboard.
