Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Called Game Over again, no answer, left a VM. We need a date so I can give them some specifics. I think Friday is a good day to do things. It should be easy for people to request time off from work (it's almost impossible to request Saturdays and Sundays off at my job, if you don't already have them off). August 27th is the last Friday of the month and it doesn't appear to interfere with Game Over's "Classic Game Fest" event they will be holding throughout the summer.

Same here. After the Monday I had, I could use this shit today.

Any chance we could do it the week before?
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Got a VM back from Game Over. They sound very excited to host our meet. Going to try to give them a call back on lunch @ 4 today.

Alright! Damn, I'm excited. Just got off the phone with Game Over.

-August 20th is the official date unless something big happens and we need to change.

-We can bring systems/games/TVs. They prefer we bring LCDs to keep things light as we would be able to place them on top of the glass cabinets in the museum area, where we will be hanging out. They also suggested power strips.

-Games and equipment brought by you should be fully disclosed to the Game Over staff to keep things legit and courteous.

-Hours: They appear to be pushing for something mid-day, possibly noon to 6pm. I feel this works out as it gives us plenty of time to clean up before they close. I think it would be best to start at 2 as this would give us a good 4 hours to play and some time to clean up without interfering with Game Over's hours. These hours would also give those who live in a few hours away time to get home without it being too late.

-No food and drink in the store. There is a large parking lot and even a small park area near the courtyard of the shopping complex. Game Over would appreciate it if we keep this outside.

-RSVP? I don't think we will need to put this in effect as I doubt the meeting will get very large. Game Over believes about 20 people can fit in the museum area. Any more than this and we may need to consider another setting. Spilling out into Game Over's retail space and affecting business would be a big no no on our part. So keep in mind this is a gathering, not a convention. :D

I'm sending this to the top of the first post with some other things. Please go to page one and check it out for more information!

2-6 also leaves time to grab food / booze elsewhere afterwards. I like this plan. Now we just need a catchy name for this get-together...

You read my mind. LOL, no idea what we could call it other than the Central Texas Racketboy member's meet. I'm thinking we should have name tags and stuff. Would be awesome if someone could make t-shirts. :D

Since only two things come from Texas, I'd propose you call yourself the The Racketsteers club. The alternative may prove to be a bit unpopular with Game On management.

Maybe we should ask the community at large for suggestions and vote on the best names?
