I think Soul Reaver was like that, just wait theres more... you must wait months + buy the sequel for the real ending.

Recently - Bioshock for sure. Terrible boss followed by a quick, nonsensical and uninspired ending sequence.

Hmm, I can't think of older endings right now that suck. Though I've surely experienced hundreds of them.

Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura.

You get to the end and as soon as the boss/final character is dealt with it rockets straight into an ending which just summarizes a bunch of world events and says nothing about your own character.

It's odd... I can't think of a single ending that actually bugged me.

I had no interest in TP from the very first screenshots I saw. I was one of the few who was excited right from the start when Wind Waker was shown off. It's still one of the most beautiful games ever made. Then TP is shown, and by contrast, it's drab and boring. So I never even bothered getting it or finding a way to play it. I instead streamed the ending online and sure enough, it was what I expected. It's OoT with wolf transformation and an Imp.

Oh and if anyone else feels nothing for TP, I suggest you guys listen to the newest RetroForce GO podcast at Toid. They slam the shit out of it.

Seriousily, I though about it. And I can't remember any game that I just was like "what the hell was that? That's all I did this work for?"
I'm also having difficulties in remembering games with bad endings. I know I have played some!

Actually I kind of remember the ending to James Pond 2: Robocod. It involved you and Santa just jumping up and down and that was it. Well thats all I remember from it. I could be wrong about that though.

I guess there is no need to mention the endings for Halo 2 or Shenmue 2.

I just hate the by the numbers game endings. For example, Zelda TP ending was so by the numbers. I want an ending that haunts me a little after viewing it and makes me think about the game (i.e. Shaow of the Collossus).

Rayman Raving Rabbids: For all the humor the game had, the ending was far too short, not particulally that funny, and a real anti climax to what little story the game had.

I listened to that. I was a little surprised by the hate. This is really a non-winnable argument in a lot ways IMO. It's more Zelda, which is good. Also, it's just more Zelda, which is kind of bad. I am truly hoping for a shake-up next time out (haven't checked out Phantom Hourglass yet, but I will). However, I really thought TP had a lot to it - it was long, more challenging than WW, looked good, played tightly. I liked it. Just not the ending.

Oh well, off topic ....

As much as I enjoyed Beyond Good and Evil, I can't help but be let down by the ending. I guess they had been planning on making a sequel, but still..

Narnia on the DS had a shitty ending - a single prerendered still of all the characters that the camera panned over. The actually game bit was ok but the naff ending made me too angry to play it again
