A yard sale mystery...any thoughts?

Post by tylerbgood »

I picked this up at a yard sale this weekend, and really don't know what I have. I've googled it pretty thoroughly I think, and am still at a loss as to what it is. Here's what I DO know:

- I own the Action Replay Max Evo disc for my PS2, and it doesn't need any special memory card.
- There is a product called the Max Memory card by Action Replay that seem to only be a third-party memory card. (And It doesn't look like this.)
- When I plug this into my PSX or PS2 it is unrecognized. Nothing happens.

Anyone know what I have? Care to be a mystery solving hero? Because I'm out of ideas.

It's likely some memory card that's meant to be used in conjunction with the Action Replay disc it came with. So without the disc you're not likely to get any results. I found reviews of Action Replay products with a disc and memory card and found this picture on a German site: http://www.konsolen-world.de/Berichte/b ... Card/1.jpg

A protection scheme like the original Gamecube and PS1 memory dongle. The GC version can easily be backed up to another memory card, not sure if that PS2 version could. The newer PS2 AR Max don't need this memory card. The Code Junkie ARs are great but the memory cards are known to fail, especially the MAX Memory one.

Hang on to it and don't use this unreliable card in case you run across the older PS2 AR Max.
