game endings i really hate
would be the ones when there isnt an end to the game but just a hint that there is a sequel on the way..but when i finish a game i want to feel like i finished something not just get a "congratulations you won now wait for the sequel"

yeah I hate those a lot, I know they only did this just to build the hype, but then they released the game like 10 years later and everyone forgot all about that game, one thing I hate the most is cliffhangers, sure it makes me guessing what would happen next, you wait and you wait hoping you would hear some news about the sequel ten years, then you realize that the game was not even made yet, or it was canceled 3 years ago...I am looking at you Shenmue!

Kind of ironic that you have Ryu from Shenmue as your avatar ( or little pic on the side of box , I don't know if that's the correct term ) .

The only way to deactivate the ray beam and fight back the vampire alien threat is with a complicated series of foot patterns on the device's control board that looks remarkably like a DDR pad. We will all praise this man for saving our lives and buy him a mountain of stuffed animals.

Thanks for the clarification, I'm a bit hopeless with the terminology.abeisgreat wrote:Its an avatarDroid party wrote:( or little pic on the side of box , I don't know if that's the correct term ) .

true shenmue is the worst case of hype endings..but the end to shenmue 1 did at least make you feel like you accomplished something..what im more against is when the end is under a minute long and only thing thats revealed is that this isnt the end even though you just Saved the world, beat the bad guy etc and given the time it takes to finish a game i do feel cheated when there isnt a big finish to make it all worthwhile.Droid party wrote:Kind of ironic that you have Ryu from Shenmue as your avatar ( or little pic on the side of box , I don't know if that's the correct term ) .

I can't believe it... me... Mr. Pessimist... the guy who never has anything good to say about a product/game/anything can't come up with an ending they hate.
Seriousily, I though about it. And I can't remember any game that I just was like "what the hell was that? That's all I did this work for?"
I bet I have said that, but it must not of been that bad to not stay in my memory. I remember everything I hate, and well... Don't remember anything.
...
One ending though, not bad. Just I expected more. "Kid Chameleon"... I expected an ending that was just as long as the game. That was some HARD shit, and I got a little still shot picture slide show of how heady metal dies, kids saved, you walk away the hero yet again. Good stuff, but I wanted that thing to remove itself from my genny and give me head God damn it!
