Moving game moments

Post by fedexin »

Anyone else have really moving emotional in-game moments?

Spoiler alert for Red Dead Redemption**************

I just got to Mexico in the one player campaign, and rode to the nearest town with the first real song I've heard in the game. It was like playing a movie, and I didn't want it to end!

I almost cried at the end of prince of persia for the xbox 360 (the one that was awesome and had that wicked art style but everyone bitched and moaned so we will never see a sequel). The only game that touched me on an emotional level.

The character development through that game was phenomenal I played through it several times just to talk to Elika (Name typo?) more. I thought Elika was a great character for that game and that iteration of the prince was the best one thus far, in both appearance and character wise they did an excellent job.

Every Day The Same Dream was one of the more moving game moments I've had recently. I wrote more about it here:

In Silent Hill 1, when Lisa (the nurse) comes down with the creeping crud (whatever it is that aflicts creatures in that world) it really was quite moving. She is a really compelling character and it was heartwrenching to see her become ill (or whatever you might call it).

I wouldn't say that I would feel moved by something in a game.

I do, however get angry when the game has a bad ending, and to compensate with lack of writing skill they start killing off characters.

Ico's ending

Max Payne 2's bad ending

Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic-If you play as a good character, you could turn this one Sith woman to the light side after lots of talks with her and then sparing her life later on when she betrays you. That always gave me a really good feeling. That's when I became a true Bioware fan

Pikmin2-Always sad when your Pikmin died.

Viva Pinata-Seeing one of your pinatas sobbing and crying and leaving your garden

Metal Gear Solid 3's entire ending sequence

Final Fantasy 6-Locke's flashback sequence when he loses that girl

Resident Evil 2-It's silly, but I was sad when Ada seemingly fell to her death in Leon's story mode

There's plenty more I've probably forgotten

I cried myself to sleep when I realized Superman would be forever trapped in that green fog filled virtual metropolis.

...and so you got blue-balled the first seven times, when it turned out to just be Toad?
