Yes. Model 1 AC adapter has a different plug size (and may or may not have a different power output).

I'm guessing the model 2 is the same plug size as the Game Gear. Is that correct?

I believe so, but I'd have to check at home.

The MK-2103 power supply will power a Genesis model 2, a Nomad, a Game Gear, or a Genesis model 3. There are a couple different cases for this power supply, but they all work the same.

As Mr Popo said, different voltage, as well as being different sized plugs.

gotcha. I'm on the hunt for a cheap model 2 adapter so I can test out these Nomads and sell them in good conscience.

I believe the Game Gear actually uses a Model 1 Adapter.

US GG uses the same adapter as a US Gen Model 2. Maybe that's different in other countries, I dunno.
