MGS 1 and 2 can be finished in a single setting, I did that.. but had to take a break because the ending of the sequel is a mindfeck. Snake Eater on the other hand took me +20 hours to finish. Yes took my sweet time with it (was my first MGS game)

of the 3 games, metal gear seams to be the only one beatable in 3 days.

I'd go with Metal Gear Solid... actually just recently beat the original on PS and the remake on Gamecube. This game can be comfortably beaten in a weekend with no problems :)

noooooooohoho, i tried playing through that in my 3rd year of college (my first living in a dorm) and only got 60% of the way through (according to the game save) in about 3-4 weeks. it was generally boring too, since i find most old school RPGs nowadays to have too huge of a story for me to follow, and often too medieval for it to hold my interest (chrono trigger being the exception!)

i don't have my complete to-play list in front of me, but i guess metal gear solid wins! i'm playing the native windows version by the way. thanks for the advice folks... weekend, here i come!

Metal Gear Solid is beatable in a day on your first attempt definitely. I can do the game in an afternoon from start to finish now.

Pretty much any modern game is beatable on a 3 day weekend now. Most games top out at about 10-15 hours.

People usually pay forty notes for a new TV series season DVD boxset, and that price comes down with time. Is it fair to charge the same for a game which offers the same amount of content, time-wise? One's thing for sure though: I will be buying far less games when publishers eventually manage to kill off the secondhand market.

@enderfall and blackDS, or anyone else

Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe FF7 does track hours after 99:59:59. It does so in 100 hour increments by changing the color of the time play text in the save file. It goes successively something like white, yellow, green, blue, red or something like that.

Tried to confirm it but couldn't find it anywhere. Anyone else know?

Agreed, but the OP had only 3 options. Still, maybe it's a good idea to list older games which don't require vast amounts of time to finish.
