And don't get me started on 3D platformers.. I liked Ratch & Clank and Sonic Adventure 1-2 (at their respective time of release), but the rest just doesn't look interesting.
You ever play Sly Cooper?

in no particular order

Loaded (!) - My first ever ps1 game, gotta love the splatter

Resident Evil: Director's Cut - good times

Wild 9 - Have you seen it? it's great, spiritual successor to Earthworm Jim, it's great

Road Rash 3D - Road Rash never got any better than that for me

Vigilante 8 - I liked it way more than twisted metal, well for the most part...

A good list, but Persona 3 is only on the PS2 and PSP. Persona 1 & 2 were the ones on the original PS.

He must have posted from another dimension. Just met someone who claimed FFX13 was a PS2 game

Straight off the bat, which is the best Sly game? And what are its merits compared to Ratchet & Clank?

All are good, but Sly 2 is best.

Merits:

*Cartoony graphics. Feels more like living a Saturday morning cartoon than Ratchet & Clank.

*Easily executed awesomeness- you can deftly jump around, wire walk, sneak etc. The controls are easy to use and allow you to get your character to do some very cool acrobatics on screen. This is done largely by using the equivalent of an "auto-aim" feature for landing your jumps and walking on ledges. Ratchet & Clank blow things up with huge firepower, but Sly leaps and bounds his way through security without being noticed. It's a different feel, and well executed.

*Charm. Again, there is that Saturday morning cartoon feel. The characters are fun. Sly is a sneaky rapscallion and his friends are entertaining counterparts, playing the role of the brains and the brawn, with Sly being a good mix of both. The voice acting is well done and everything stays pretty jovial and fun in the games atmosphere. Ratchet & Clank are fun in all of their explosive bombast, but Sly does things with Panache.

1. Final Fantasy IX
2. Harvest Moon Back To Nature
3. Super Robot Wars Alpha Gaiden
4. Final Fantasy Tactics
5. Castlevania: SoTN

I always wonder why people think Final Fantasy VII is so good.
Thanks everyone...

I don't get the subject of this thread. It sounds like you're supposed to choose your top 5 PS1 games from some top 10 list. It seems as if everyone is just choosing their own favorite 5 games. Where's this top 10 list that everyone is choosing from?
