hey guys. I got a vga cable box adaptor for my dreamcast. I was wondering about some actual settings on a monitor. I notice theres 2 settings that seem to change the picture: coarse and fine.
Coarse is obvious it makes the picutre wider or thiner. I usually crank it all the way down or things get stretched out. The question is finger.. im not reallysure what it does. I thought it did something with sharpness but im really not too sure. It almost seems like it gets rid of some blur but i think i see more jaggies. I really cant tell anymore, ive been messing with it for a while and i think at this point any changes are mostly in my head
so whats the fine control on the VGA input actually DO? do i want to crank it or lower it?
the rest like sharpness, ect all are self explanitory obviously heh

Not sure, seems similar to sharpness control. Go with what visually looks good to you.
Which Monitor model do you have?
Quit playing with that remote, its time wasted not playing the game.

Re: question about monitor settings when using VGA cable
i think it may have something to do with motion blur? THats the problem, i got minor OCD with stuff like this, i gotta know what settings do, i always spend forever tweaking them. The problem is i dont notice much of a differnce at 0 or 100%. It seems if i go anywhere in between it looks a bit off.. i.e. if i look at text carefully it looks like it gets 'smeared' slightly to the left or right
so anyone have any idea?

Unless there's someone with latent psychic abilities that can read your mind while you're looking at the screen, you're gonna need to tell us what the monitor brand and model number are in order for us to have a chance at helping you.
Do you not have the manual? Can you find it on the manufacturer's website with the model number?

hah, samsung monitor.. 245bw i think? No i dont have a manual. Most monitors dont come with one these days. I didn't mention it because pretty much all monitors have the option on them
i put it to 0 for now since im really not sure what it does. I think 100 might look a bit better but im really not sure =P
