And out of those 9 games listed for XBox 360... 5 of them can also be purchased on PC (unless you are not counting PC for some odd reason). I believe that nearly all of the PS3 exclusives haven't left the console.
Exactly the point I was going to make.

Also note that most of the games you listed are FPS's. I can't stand them.

Most of those games were just half-assed ports because the XBox 360 and Windows architecture are similar.

ratchet and clank
demons souls

I could say the same in that L4D and L4D2 are half assed ports on 360 as Valve is first and foremost a PC developer.

Let's see...
1) Gears of War shipped to PC with more multiplayer maps, 5 new single player chapters (including that big Brumak boss as a battle) which never made it to XBox 360
2) Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2 were developed by Valve for PC and ported to XBox... I think everyone here knows that Valve is a huge PC supporting company
3) Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2 I wasn't so sure about as I have not played them (on PC or XBox), but here is a quote on Wikipedia for the first game "Early reviews of the Windows version by Ars Technica and PC Zone have hailed it as the "definitive" Mass Effect, and an outstanding port to the Windows platform."

Those don't sound like half-assed ports with sloppy controls, slowdowns, and other ilk that can happen on some other titles.

This is the biggest problem I have with the majority of Xbox 360's "Exclusives". They aren't exclusive.

I'll tell you right now, if I got an Xbox 360, there are only two games I'd get for it: Dead Rising and Earth Defense Force 2017. That is it. Everything is such generic, over-done, macho-male power fantasy with no unique or redeeming qualities. (With the exception of Alan Wake, with does look worth a gander... I'm just not very interested in it right now.)

And if all you think the PS3 has is MGS4, you are either the most obvious troll I've seen, or you are somehow stuck 2.5 years in the past - and even if that were the case, you should at least be able to also see games like Valkyria Chronicles, Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction, Resistance: Fall of Man, Resistance 2, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, WipeOut HD, and many other games that came out well before 2009 - the obvious "Year of the PS3", when Triple-A exclusives were coming out from every corner of the globe.

Seriously, I haven't seen a troll this obvious since the end of Jay And Silent Bob Strike Back. And I'm beginning to wish I had the plane tickets to do the same thing.

I think you guys are being a bit harsh on the dude, he was bringing up a topic for discussion which everyone immediately decided was trolling and proceeded to personally insult him, which seems a little troll-y to me. We've all had some less than eloquent posts, cut the guy some slack.

He does make a good point though, from my own anecdotal experience, and from my (albeit limited) knowledge of the actual numbers, the Xbox 360 is doing quite a bit better than the PS3 overall. The 360 has become quite infamous for its problems (RROD et al), and yet it still seems to be the more popular console. I'm a huge supporter of the PS3, and I personally think that it's by far the better console (not trying to start a flame war, just opinion here), and I think it's more a sign of changing times than anything. This is the first real internet console generation, and I think it's making the marketing of systems more difficult. The 360 was out for a while before the PS3, which gave it time to build up a userbase before the PS3 could provide competition. I think this is the key, because when someone who has neither console goes to get one of them, there's a new factor to consider: which console do my friends have?

And keep in mind guys, that when speaking of consoles and their pros and cons, sometimes we need to step out and look at the bigger picture. We're all pretty knowledgeable on this board, and we take our games seriously, and thusly have pretty different opinions than the general population. Just something to consider.

P.S. Holy crap this is way too long of a post, I sense a lot of TL;DRs coming my way

[Edit: Wow in the time it took me to write all this, this thread got even worse. This could have been a very interesting discussion, pity that it's not turning out that way.]

I want to point out that even though I have been putting the XBox 360 down a little I do own all 3 consoles out there this generation. I enjoy them all, but a lot of the XBox 360 "exclusives" can be found on the PC... which is what I would rather use. Also, a recent article came out of total sales numbers for the current generation machines; Wii is, of course, dominating... XBox 360 had quite a big head start but PS3 is only 5 million behind now and gaining.
