I've been using eBay for a while and this is the first time I've come up with a bad seller. Not quite sure what to do but I know a lot of you guys use eBay so I was wondering if anyone could help me out?
Basically, I won an item on 20th September, sent Paypal payment the same day and it went out of my bank account on the 26th. The item still hasn't arrived, I sent a message through eBay to the guy a good few days ago and no response. Requested his contact details so I can give him a ring, but I'm not exactly sure what I should do. If he says he hasn't sent the item, should I report him to eBay straight away? And if he says he has, what happens next?
I'm aware there's a postal strike at the moment but it only started this week, and I feel I've given him more than enough time to send the item or at least contact me about it. Anyone got any advice as to what I should do? Thanks.

Give him up to another week, and then ring his ass. Sometimes you have to be a little intimidating. Might help to even hint that you're the type of person who likes to travel for reasons such as this, lol.
I had a hell of an experience one time. The guy sold me some monster cables for ps2 real cheap, but the connector on it was bent and it didnt like to stay in. After some discussion with him, I gave him a neutral, which I thought was fair. He flew off the fuckin handle and began prank calling me around 2am that night 3 times, not saying anything. Our phone company requires 4 calls from a person to warrant action so I said that and he stopped. Then he got online and replied to my feedback with some hilarious insults and gave me a negative saying I was a crazy buyer but stayed vague. I contacted ebay and within days they erased his feedback on me, erased his reply to the feedback I gave him, issued him a warning.
Then over 1.5 YEARS LATER, he emails me.

Remember the span of 1.5 years. I had no clue who this dude was, and assumed he had the wrong email address. After seeking legal counsel, I am seriously considering a lawsuit against you. I will give you one chance to make this better. Please call me at ***-***-**** if you would like to resolve amicably. Regards, ********* ***********.
He then links me to a forum post I had made where I told my story of the experience and gave out his phone number for good measure. After such a long time, I just said fuck it and removed the post. I didn't care. But I followed up with this and that was that:Excuse me? Who are you? I don't believe I've done any such business with you. Explain yourself. I think you've got the wrong person.
I don't really blame you for coming on strong with that legal approach. If I was in your shoes, I'd have assumed I was dealing with some 2-bit punk kid as well, and went for the intimidation route, especially judging from such an alias. But next time, don't greet the person you have a problem with after 1.5 years in such a way that would imply the two of you talk on a daily basis. It's creepy. I had absolutely no clue who you were.
How far away are your locations?
Definately give him a few days.
People always bug me when their stuff doesn't show up after a week. It usually shows up the next day.
There's nothing I can do once it's in the USPS's hands.

Whoa! Never heard of that much of an extreme...Pullmyfinger wrote:I don't think it happens too often, but in August I received a game I bought a long time ago and the bar code area said it was shipped in April 2006 and from not too far away, for some reason it took over a year to get to me. I thought I just had been scammed.
Must have been sitting in some corner for a while before some cleaning guy found it

Alright then, I'll leave it a bit longer. The guy is only about an hour away from me, but I don't have a car and to be honest the petrol cost would probably be worth more than the item itself. It was extremely cheap, but it's annoying because I've wanted it for a long time and can't find it anywhere else. He only has 7 feedback comments, but most people bought from him and he has a 100% positive rating. I hope my item isn't sitting in a corner somewhere waiting for some cleaning guy to find it.
Mozgus, I can't believe that someone would hold something so small against you for a year and a half. The guy must have been pretty crazy to stay hung up on it for so long. That's damn creepy.
