Wow, the wavebird is great but I'm not sure it's worth that. What was in the 40s? The only beer I've tried in 40oz quantity and not hated was Mickey's.

I just got one myself for my Wii. After searching local stores forever and coming up empty I had nearly given up. I had a friend who had one in his closet and hadn't used it for years..I offered him $30 for the damn thing over the course of two years and he would just not come off the thing.

Few months back a friend of mine needed a ride to the pawn shop. He had a box of Gamecube goodies he was going to get rid of. I saw a Wavebird in the box and offered him $5 for it. He ended up giving it to me for free (well for the ride) and I've been a happy Wavebird owner ever since.

I *love* this controller. Begin able to play my cube games on my HDTV without begin 5 feet from the screen is a dream come true. Now if we could only get cube games to run at 480p on the Wii...

Why do you think Gamecube games don't run 480p on the Wii? Games that support 480p (a good number of them) will run 480p.

You just need the componet cables to run the games on 480p I think.
Thanks everyone...

Correct and you need to press A (?) when you get the popup that asks if you want to play the game in progressive scan mode.

Here's the official word from Nintendo.
Nintendo wrote: Connecting the Cables, AC Adapter, and Controllers:

Locate the audio/video INPUT jacks AND the component INPUT jacks on the TV.
Connect the Component Video Cable to the Component Video inputs as follows:
Insert the Green plug in the green hole labeled Y on the back of the TV.
Insert the Blue plug in the blue hole labeled Pb or Cb on the back of the TV.
Insert the Red plug in the red hole labeled Pr or Cr on the back of the TV.
Connect the Stereo AV Cable Cable to the Audio inputs associated to the Component inputs:
Insert the Red (Audio Right) plug into Audio IN Right.
Insert the White (Audio Left) plug into Audio IN Left.
Let the Yellow (Video) plug hang. Do not insert it in the Video In input.
Connect the rectangular plug of the Component Video Cable into the Digital AV Out port on the back of the Wii console.
Plug the Sensor Bar connector (red) into the back of the Wii console.
Make sure the system is on a hard flat surface. Allow plenty of space around the unit for ventilation. Make sure the power button is in the OFF position (button is not pressed-in).
Plug the AC Adapter into the back of the system into the DC 12V In port (fits only one way). Plug the other end into a wall outlet.
Turn the power on.
Turn on the TV or VCR and locate the input select. It's often called Input Select, AUX (auxilary), Line, Line In, Input, Source, Select, In, or EXT (external. Switch the input select to show the Nintendo game.
Finding the Correct Input on Your TV:

Turn on the TV and set it to the appropriate input select. The Nintendo GameCube logo should appear on the screen, followed by the game's main menu.

Displaying a Game in Progressive Scan Mode:
In order to display a game in progressive scan mode, the Wii console must be set to "480p" from the Wii System menu. Click here for information on doing this.

Note about using progressive scan in the future: Once you have accessed progressive scan mode once, the next time you attempt to play a Wii game that is progressive scan-compatible, the system will remember this setting and will default to progressive scan for each game you play in the future that is progressive scan compatible.

I should invest in some Wavebirds for Pacman VS, maybe cut down on the octopus garden. Other then that game, really have not needed any since all my consoles are right on the coffee table. 25 foot Component, Composite and S-Video cables routed back to the HD.

I don't know how I managed to get the wife to agree with that but not gonna ask.

I love the wavebird and it's amazing battery life (My batteries have been in it for two years with play at least once a week for two to three hours and still haven't been changed.) but the lack of rumble makes me constantly switch over to the wired controller.
My Consoles:
Genesis - Nomad - SegaCD - GameGear - Sega Saturn - Dreamcast - NES - SNES - N64 - Gamecube - Wii - Playstation - PSone & LCD - PS2 - PS3 - Xbox - 3DS
