I haven't updated mine yet. I can be quite the stubborn mother fucker at times. I've just been using my PS3 as a streaming media device lately.

Apparently the United States Air Force is pissed at Sony right now because they were somehow convinced that buying a bunch of PS3s with OtherOS was a great way to do powerful computing at affordable prices. The contract was over half a million USD.

Though they don't need to update their firmware, they are screwed if anything has to be sent in for repair.

George Hotz does not owe you anything. Nobody should be complaining about work that hackers/developers do since they do it in their own spare time.

That is true. He may be waiting to see what is going to happen with the lawsuit. That would save him a lot of time on something like cracking an update.

Just thought I'd drop this link for you guys.

It's a similar story except it's about Universities instead of the USAF.

The word out on the net is that George Hotz has given up trying to hack the PS3.

It'll be up to someone else to do it.

The machine has so much potential... It's a pity it hasn't been hacked yet. But maybe it's better that way!
