Genesis tab cutters anonymous.

Post by forsigmar »

I can't stand those tabs. I have over 300 boxed Genesis games and I have cut the tabs off all of them, it just looks so much cleaner. Its similar to all of that crap (warnings, nintendo power offers, etc.) that comes inside DS/Gba games. I normally chuck it all and just keep the manual. Are there any other collectors out there that are tab cutters?

I only have a dozen or so boxed Genesis games, but I definitely cut the tabs off.

everytime you cut a gensis hang tag off god kills a kitten. and i am dead fucking serious.

i might be the only one, but i love those tags. if i see 2 identical games, one with and one without a hang tag i go for the hang tag.
if you took a shit, please put it back

Yeah dude, you gotta keep the tabs. I didn't even think that was debatable. You're circumcising a piece of video game history.

I like collecting and I like my games complete, but when the majority of my Genesis games don't have a hangtab, getting one that does is a real bother. I've never cut one off, but I don't particularly like them. Did the Japanese games have hangtabs? I know the Korean ones didn't.

None of my 5 do.

Admittly the tabs are kind of clunky if you're not a store hanging them up, but I consider a Genesis game to be 'more complete' if its still there. Much like having the plastic bags in boxed NES and SNES games. Just for comparison, my European and Australian SMS games both have tabs.

Out of my 3 boxed Genesis games, one is missing a tag. And it was not I who removed it. I keep them as they prevent my boxed Genny games from sliding off the rack I keep them on.

I like the tabs and therefore say a case with tabs is worth more to me.

Also, the tabs can be locked down if you just fold it down when the case is closed.
