Any New TV Shows You Like?

Post by racketboy »

The new TV season has begun and there are a number of new TV shows debuting.
I've watched a few new ones and have been pleasantly surprised.

Journeyman: Seems pretty good. Involves time travel, so I'm naturally drawn in.

Chuck: A "geek" comedy that isn't totally accurate as far as geekiness goes, but close enough and mildly entertaining

Big Bang Theory: Another geek comedy that I've enjoyed more. Seems like a sitcom version of my favorite reality show, Beauty and the Geek

Aliens in America: Slick writing so far and gets me laughing constantly. Very interested to see how this progresses.

What new shows have you enjoyed?

The only one I've seen is Chuck. It didn't really interest me.

I prefer The It Crowd.

Pushing Daisies is interesting. Not sure it can be sustainable as a series, though.

Funny thread. I'm on the NBC site right now watching the the first two eps...good so far.

It looks like my classes I'm supporting today don't need much, so I've got 4 hours to kill. Chuck will take care of at least half that. This forum will kill the other two.

I'm still attempting to finish the 3rd season of Battlestar, getting ready for the new ones next year. I also just got the last three eps of Karas that I need to complete. Other than that, the only other show I'm hyped for is Freedom(anime)

I thought the pilot from Pushing Daisies was brilliant. Brian Fuller always has great ideas, but they usually get squashed. I hope he can explore some of the ideas he had for Dead Like Me in this new show.

Bionic Woman hasn't blown me away, but it has sustained my interest. Katie is great as the original Bionic Woman and I'm liking some of the various members of the organization they introduced this week. They need to lose the annoying, cliche bratty sister though. Wish she could just get killed off. Seriously

I checked out Reaper's first episode and literally fell asleep before it was over. It didn't make me laugh, the pacing felt off, and I didn't find the characters very believable. Sometimes I wonder if Kevin Smith isn't very overrated.

I'm watching Smallville despite how much it sucks sometimes. It's sort of a guilty pleasure at this point.

I gave up on Heroes after its craptacular season 1 finale. I watched half of the season 2 premiere and just got bored and switched it off.

I'm waiting for Battlestar Galactica and Lost to come back and blow away most of the new stuff this season.

Basically agreed on all points, except I didn't mind Heroes. I also am going to give Reaper another shot. I really loved Pushing Daisies, and I like all the Brian Fuller stuff. I can't believe that Wonderfalls got cancelled so quickly. Fox has a way to fuck every show that's good, with the exception of it's FX branch, which right now is f'ing brilliant. I love The Shield and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

I'm also waiting for Lost and BSG. Is there any news on that BSG spin-off? Sounded interesting.

I watched the first couple episodes of Wonderfalls after hearing lots of positive comments about it, but I didn't find it very compelling. Does it get better later on?
