After all, having to organize and access an inventory in real time is so much better than having the entire game go on hold while you take your time and screw around in your inventory. This feature really helped RE5 to go above RE4. I actually like it when games in series make some type of change in their setup. Change is not always a bad thing.
Yeah, you are totally right. It totally makes sense for a shotgun to take up the same amount of space as a pistol. A rifle to take up the same amount of space as a magazine. A grenade launcher to take up the same amount of space as an egg.

"It seems appropriate for a survival horror game." How cute - you think the Resident Evil series is still even trying to be a survival horror game.

Oh yeah, I forgot about RE 5's inventory system. Yet another reason I liked RE 4 better. You know honestly, you can end the whole RE 4 vs RE 5 debate with one simple thing. What did RE 5 bring to the table that was new? Honestly, the whole game was an RE 4 ripoff, just not a very good one, dropping a lot of the stuff that made RE 4 fun, while adding NOTHING worthwhile to the mix other than a crappy co-op feature that actually turned off a lot of fans. Even the enemies were mostly just RE 4 enemies with a visual makeover. RE 5 was a lazy, half-assed, uninspired sequel a.k.a. an easy cash in

Even if you just do the math. RE 5 adds co-op feature and dumps a bunch of other stuff that RE 4 had that was cool(inventory system, merchants, shooting gallery, cool lead characters, better story, etc, etc. etc.)it becomes clear just looking at the numbers that RE 5 is a lesser game than RE 4 was.

And while you can argue that both games have moved away from survival horror. At least RE 4 still felt like a zombie movie. I love the part where you were locked in the cabin with Luis fighting off waves of zombies. That felt like something out of a horror flick. RE 5 tried to rip that off too, but did it less effectively. RE 4 had a creepy vib running through it too, which RE 5 doesn't even TRY to do, except for that ONE part with the Lickers.

And Leon is much cooler than Chris, or at least RE 5's version of Chris. Chris apparently is useless without a partner CONSTANTLY following him around and his big steroid muscles. I miss those solitary moments in RE 4 where Leon had no one to rely on other than himself. And I particulary liked Ada's comment during her story mode about his incredible talent for survival. It really makes Chris come across as a lesser hero when he's got to have a partner around all the time. The only time Leon ever has someone else around in RE 4 is when he actually has to protect himself AND that person, which makes him all the more badass. I just didn't like Chris and Sheva AT ALL. I like Leon's cluelessness with women. I like the goofy relationship he developers with Ashley. I like his knife using expertise, and I liked the occasional badass line like, "You're smalltime". Those are all things that ACTUALLY GAVE HIM CHARACTER. I also like Ada's style and sex appeal and how you're always guessing what her motives and feelings are. Chris and Sheva were just boring as hell. I can't think of one single interesting thing to say about either one of them

Well damn, I guess they're getting behind digital distribution full swing. They think more additional downloadable content will "deepen ties with users," and that digital distribution will "maximize profts." And they're only allowing 20-30% of development interests to be new brands, so 70-80% will be old series or remakes. And they plan to "Aggressively pursue 'Single Content Multiple Usage' strategy," which means a whole bunch of merchandising...oh for fuck's sake, Capcom, why are you making another shitty Resident Evil film?

Also, what is Mega Man Online? This isn't that major Mega Man development they've been hinting at, is it? And Dead Rising 2 is apparently coming out in the US at the end of August.

Hmm, I already knew arcades were starting to do poorly over there, but I didn't realize that pachislo was doing that bad. Pachinko still seems ok though. Page 25's a bit upsetting.

And Resident Evil 4 iPad Edition? Really, Capcom? Really?
