Another thread crying about eBay

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

I told them I did not want credit because they misrepresent items so what would I spend it on. They wrote me back telling me I would be receiving the money back via paypal shortly. I feel kind of bad for some reason...I did pull out the FTC pretty quickly I guess. Just getting kind of tired of people on eBay.
Nah, chief, you nuked it from orbit. It was the only way to be sure.

So I am selling some PC games on eBay and they will only let me charge $4 for shipping for a video game. Well I shipped two games today and one cost me over $7 and the other cost me over $8 and that is the cheapest with no insurance or tracking. I am sick of this shit. eBay needs to go back to letting sellers set the shipping at what they want.

this is just like my bootleg DKC cart. The seller said he'd refund my paypal but that I need to send the game back. So that's not fair! I'm expected to now pay to send a cart back to China out of my own pocket because they decided to sell bootlegs on ebay. I'm still waiting to hear back.

I shop on ebay a lot, but I'm very cautious. What sucks about ebay is that most of the lowest forms of life seem to be sellers on there. The price inflation alone due to all the dicks on ebay has made collecting stuff online not much fun anymore, even though I luck out and get a great deal every now and then

I really need to get out and visit more goodwills, pawn shops, garage sales and flea markets for my collecting needs

So by dicks you mean people who know the value of their item and by other places you mean people who do not?

Yeah, that does suck. I bought a game once and they sent me a different version than what whats listed and in order for me to get a refund I would have had to have shipped it back out of my own pocket. I just kept the item I didn't even want. I try not to buy stuff that does not have an actual photo anymore.

Well I was on the other end of the coin at one time.. I sold my old GBC yellow and 3 games for $15.. The guy complained that two of the games didn't save... Now I tested all three games prior to selling them and they saved fine.. My Pokemon Gold saved game had been deleted however so I started up a new one.. And like I said, the Metroid II and Final Fantasy Legends 3 were in perfect condition... I even gave him a free charger, carrying case and a few other accessories free of charge..

I don't know he gave me neutral feedback which was the only non positive feedback I've ever gotten.. I tried to message him to explain to me what the deal was and I never got a reply.. Keep in mind that this joker got pretty much the best deal I've ever sold to anyone as part of my collection.. He got a GBC yellow complete with two new AA batteries, 3 games which are pretty vintage, a carrying case, an a charger and a few accessories all for only 15 bucks and all he can do is give me crappy feedback and doesn't even respond me back to my message of concern... Lets just say I hope he never tries to buy something from me again..

I sold a copy of Risk 2210 and the buyer wrote back saying a lot of pieces were missing and ask me to refund almost all of the money. I said no and ebay judged in his favor so I got back a game missing a ton of piece. I guess he must have needed pieces for his own set.

What a joke... Yeah I think I'll just hold on to most of my collection for now...

Well it seems that there IS not inherent value to any game other than what sellers on ebay assign to it. I know a lot of people here determine their prices based on http://www.videogamepricecharts.com

However, I think that website just gets an average price based on what's currently on ebay. So basically ebay sellers are setting the prices for the rest of the gaming community and some of the prices I see these days are just insane.
