Name that arcade game.

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Name that arcade game.

Ok I've noticed people asking on the forums for help to ID games they used to play so I thought I might do the same.
This is probably an obvious one that everybody but me knows but here goes anyway.

I'm a huge beat-em up fan, the first game I ever played was Double dragon on the sms and the first game I ever owned was Streets of rage on the Mega-drive, these are two games I still smash into pretty hard to this day but one that I have never owned but played heavily in the arcade years ago was a Simpsons brawler , now it's been at least ten years since I've played or even seen anything about this game so my memory of it is pretty sketchy.

All I can remember is that it started with Smithers stealing a diamond, running out of the store, bumping into the Simpsons, then somehow Maggie wound up with the diamond in her mouth, Smithers grabbing maggie and running of with her. Now calling the police just isn't the Simpson way so they decide to fight their way through wave after wave of thug to get her back.

Now this game was an awesome game so somebody has got to remember it. What I'm hoping is that it got a console release so I can buy it because at the moment it is nothing more than a good gaming memory.

If this is a stupid question that you feel is a waste of time then here is a news story to maybe make it worth it.

There is this arcade game about 15 mins away from where I live. As far as I know though, I don't think there is a port of it... but I don't know if this is true, I have just never seen one.

Well in response to the thread title, the game's name is "The Simpsons" and it was only ever ported to DOS and C64. Both ports are fairly bad/primitive and aren't worth tracking down.

You're better off just firing up MAME and playing it that way.

That's a shame, oh well thanks anyway, I guess i'll just have to download it then. At least I know the name. Although I feel kinda stupid now that I know that it is just called "The Simpsons"
