Where'd you see that?!

Also, he's new at this and you're wrong. Arcade montor or no, CRT's in general can hold a charge for far far longer than 2-3 weeks. Unless I go pro I'm not stupid enough to risk tinkering with a monitor unless I'm qualified.

But in your defense a new monitor will hit the $250-$350 range and at that point the average fully working Neo-Geo cab is about $400-$500.
Look I have machines and I work on them all the time and if you leave the power switch on the cap draws down it is like a battery and the voltage will drop.
Just because you are scared to do your own repairs does not mean I can't.

I bought my machines on ebay except my mame cab and I didn't pay $400.00 - $500.00

I paid $300.00 dollars for marvel vs capcom from a local arcade It's not my fault you are willing to overpay.
Relax man, I'm just quoting my local Neo market and the average prices I see (whenever (if ever) they actually show up at all) and what I've experienced when dealing personally with CRT's.
I am relaxed I am just answering your questions thats all.

Could the integrity of the monitor/functionality be determined by the professional by examining it? Because setting it all up as it is right now could be a possible problem. If the project seems to be too much of a money pit, and I could just but another for a better price, it might end up sold.

The machine as is would only get you like $40.00 - $50.00 if you are lucky.

I would fix it up though. Don't worry about the cost because when you put new part in you have a better machine than one that has been around 15 years or so.

Yeah, but my general consensus is that I'm looking for and quoting a Neo Geo specifically and I can't seem to find any for cheap as of late.

Still though I am pretty new at this, just trying to quote the values I find as I see them.

True, I'm just sick of this one local arcade company that takes it upon themselves to repair and restore all the Neo's (not to mention load them up with uncommon or rare games) and other cabs they can find in my area and charging an outrageous price for them.
