On 4-24-10 I Beat "Castlevania: Bloodlines" (Genesis) On Easy, Sigh... at least I finally beat it.
I attempted to beat Castlevania: Bloodlines earlier this year, and had a TON of trouble with it. IIRC, I made it just past the boss that raised and lowered the water levels in the stage.

The worst part is the password because it remembers how many continues you have left. I would play every level until I could beat it with one or two lives max so that my password would allow me two continues - both of which I needed for the last level and then Drac.

By the way, I figured out a cheap way of taking Drac out: Use Eric because when he is doing his super jump he is invincible. Stand to the far left of the screen and super jump when he attacks and super jump when he is above you (usually he is above and attacking.) It may be slow but I only got hit once or twice while doing that.

Now I am going to go back and beat it on normal without using cheap tactics.

Battle Arena Toshinden Remix new! Saturn

Had this sucker CIB for around a month. Played it today, and ended up beating the game on Normal with every character, in a row. That's not saying much about the difficulty, but it does say a lot about the fun factor. Was this the first game with the now famous Soul Blade format? If not, it's damned near close. So much fun, very intuitive, and it still looks like a video game.

Huzzah!

Possibly. I haven't been able to post 3/4s of what I'd like to.

But, it's the second time I beat tetris GB this year.

Beat another one. That finishes out the Penumbra trilogy for me(I beat the first one about six months ago). I'm wondering what I should play next.

Soul Calibur IV
Super Bomberman 2
Cybernator
S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky
Devil Kings
Still Life
Dead Space
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
LEGO Batman
Penumbra: Black Plague
Half-Life 2: Episode One
Penumbra: Requiem

Heh, only up to 12 this year. I'm slacking.

Raiden IV 360
Shatter PS3
After Burner 32X
Dragon Age: Origins PS3
Red Faction: Guerrilla PS3
RayStorm PS1
RayCrisis: Series Termination PS1
Call of Duty: World at War 360
Contra NES
In the Hunt PS1
Philosoma PS1
F.E.A.R.: Extraction Point 360
God of War III PS3
Electronic Table Soccer! Odyssey2
Gigawing DC
Gigawing 2 DC
Shoot 1UP 360
Dragon Age Origins: Awakening PS3
1942: Joint Strike- PS3
Little Big Planet - PSP

Strikers 1945 Plus Portable - PSP *new* - Horrible. Four or five stages, repeated twice, with very few lives, insane difficulty and infinite continues. The hit detection is poor, the enemies mostly uninspired (except for the one that appears to be teabagging you), and the game is just not very fun. I'm usually pretty forgiving with shmups, but this one is a turd.

Madden NFL 10
- PS3 *new* - I finally got around to finishing my 2009 season, so I'm counting it. Best Madden this gen, IMHO.

Gunstar Heroes -PS3 (GEN) *new* - I have to confess that I'd never actually finished this game, but I had gotten close a few times. I decided to buckle down and play it through, and the additional trophy rewards were just enough extra incentive. It certainly deserves the hype, and is easily one of the best run-n-gunners ever. If you haven't played this through to the end, don't put it off like I did.

Astro Boy: Omega Factor - GBA *new* - Much, much easier than Gunstar Heroes, but undeniably in the same vein. If you like other Treasure games, be sure not to let this one pass under your radar. That said, I know/knew nothing about Astro Boy and found there to be far too many cutscenes to watch and text to read in between the action, but the gameplay is a ton of fun and worth persevering through a convoluted plot.

Final Fight - PS2 (Arcade) - *new* - Screw DRM and Remixed music, the Capcom Classics Collection Version is seemingly arcade perfect and still as fun as ever. Reading all the recent posts about the re-release of the game made me eager to go back and play through as Haggar this time (something I hadn't done in a few years). I am still impressed how great this game looks and plays some 20+ years after it originally came out!

Finishing up Madden and Gunstar made me remember that there are about a half dozen games or more around here that are sitting close to done that I just need to finish up. So I'll be working on those for the next few weeks until the semester ends and I can dedicate more time to starting longer games. This thread has been great for my backlog!

I was debating how/if to count fighting games in this thread. When did you count SC4 as "beaten"?
