The D-Pad on the 360 works just fine for Final Fight, it's not like Final Fight requires exact placement with the D-Pad to work correctly... jeez... it's Final Fight.

I think the 360 controller is one of the best controllers ever made. *shrug* Maybe I am just used to it.

That said, I never really play games using the D-pad for motion.

I'm always shocked when people say this. The 360 controller was designed for third person and first person shooters. It's excellent for those, but not ideal for other genres. It's...adequate, but not always ideal. I've played a lot of games on the 360 and have just learned to tolerate it, but playing games on the PS3 feels sooooo much beter.

The best controller on current gen consoles as it has been for years now is the Playstation one. The competition has been crap for a long time, especially the ridiculous controllers Nintendo has been putting out over the last few generations. The basic Playstation model going back to the PS1 works well for any genre and is just more well rounded as far as I'm concerned. And it has a decent d-pad unlike the shitty one on the 360, which is a lot like the shitty one on the Dreamcast controller, which seems like what the 360 pad is based off of.

But of course some will disagree. I think Sega really had things down with the Genesis and the Saturn, especially the 6 button controllers, then they screwed things up with the Dreamcast controller, which seemed like it was designed solely for holding those little mini-game carrying memory cards.

To each their own. I feel the wireless Xbox 360 controller (minus the blah d-pad) is the best controller ever made. It feels perfect in my hands, the PS3 pad becomes uncomfortable after longer play sessions. All the triggers/buttons/sticks (minus the blah d-pad) work and feel great, unlike the crap "triggers" on the PS3 pad. Like I said... to each their own. The Japanese Saturn 6 buttons were pretty swell as well. :)

I like the 360 pad better even though the D pad sucks. If I'm playing games like Final Fight on PS3 or 360 I use arcade sticks anyway. Sometimes I use USB Saturn pads on the PS3 too.

Yes, any game that would require the D-pad is better off played with an arcade stick anyhow.
