Sin and Punishment on VC

Post by PharmaceuticalCowboy »

So is it worth $12?? I see much hype surrounding this game, yet the gameplay videos make it seem like a very straightforward shmup-type game. What makes Sin and Punishment stick out in gamers minds??

main reason would be it was an import only title until now.

No idea, but if it's by Treasure, it's worth more than $12 automatically.

$12 is a bargain, if you ask me.

Forgive me for going all fanboyish, but Sin and Punishment is one of the best games I've ever played. Watch these videos. One of the coolest levels in any video game

Picked this up today and it's definitly worth every penny and more. Never thought Nintendo would offer import games. Can't wait to see what else they will release in the future. Japan is soon getting Alien Soldier for the mega drive. We probably aren't far behind.

Yeah, I am not one much for the behind the back rail shooters, though multiplayer Starfox is fun. But back when Sin and Punishment first came out, myself and several coworkers pooled money to import it, we were the only Software ETC (probably ever) to have it playing on an N64 for several months. After seeing a handful of screenshots it was enough for us to drop the $80 on it.

Its funny, I am a big vertical shump fan, but I really cant stand most other kinds of shooters.

And I agree with gamer, that first video is of an amazing stage.

I beat this game the first day I played it. I modded my N64 just for this game. It's a blast. It reminds me of Zone of the Enders 2. Two heavily anime influenced games with nonstop action, and lots of surprises you don't expect. I definitely recommend ZOE 2 for anyone looking for another awesome anime style action game, even though both games represent different genres. Both games are such awesome adrenaline rushes.

My only real problems with Sin and Punishment were the awkward controls and tough challenge, but both of those things are overcome with practice

Personally, I think Sin and Punishment, Starfox 64 and Panzer Dragoon Orta are the best rail shooters around.
