Anything I should watch for? I've heard that the 2000 is built with cheaper materials than the 1000 - are there some problem areas I should check for?
I was thinking about the d-pad thing but thought you already knew. It's still not perfect, but functional.

I've had a 2000 for some time now. I wouldn't say there's anything cheap about its construction, as long as you don't do anything stupid with it.

One advantage the 1000 has over the 2000 by the way, is it's more compatible with some old homebrew games, but a lot of people have worked on applications for this so it's less of a problem now

Have fun, I literally wanted to punch someone at times when I was first learning about all this PSP stuff, but it's worth it. If you google psp updates there is a helpful site called QJ something or other

I'm also finding that there are a lot of apps that people say will only work with this or that. I have been chucking stuff on there left and right and yeah, it may not work right away but if you mess with few settings or where you place your files it usually fixes whatever the problem was. In other words, I haven't found an app yet that hasn't ran. Pretty fun stuff.
